A 40 year old heavyweight who hasn't fought a proper fight since 2013 and was never much more than a gatekeeper back in his prime about 12 years ago.

yet never been stopped, just seems like a good fit for Hughie right now, see if he can get somebody out of there that nobody else ever could

That'd be a useful gauge if he was billed as a big puncher but we know he isn't and that his style will ultimately end in this being a wide UD. It's a pretty poor fight but not terrible, sort of.

Considering it's a late replacement, the opponent could have been far worse.

If Hughie were to stop him I'd say it says more about his opponents decline than his improvements. As previously pointed out he's 40 years old and hasn't fought competitively for a number of years.

same old boxing views, why is it that fans seem happier running fights and fighters down than just enjoying 'what is'. The 'damned if he Loses, wins on points or wins on knockout' as in this case is boring.

  9. If Fury stops him he's been paid to take a dive. Hughie has no power at all.

  10. Hughie was due to fight a top 10 opponent, then ends up with a 40 year old who hasn't fought regularly for years.

That's why we're running this sham of a fight down.

Whilst I see your point, this is still poor. Made worse by Peter Fury including Hughie in his current top 10 heavyweights

For a minute I thought it meant Bobby Gunn. Hughie by death.

V Guinn Hugie on points maybe a ref stoppage Guinn will only compete so he doesn't get stopped.

Don't you think that a washed up guy that has a 50/50 kinda record in the last 12 years, and has only beaten 2 names of note in that period (long since retired Bergeron and punchbag to the stars Audley), really is a legit opponent?

If you big someone up by saying he was going to beat Mike Tyson's age record, should be a top 10 HW already and was supposed to fight a current top 10 heavyweight, then fight a guy that fought 7 times in the last 7 years and went 3-4, there's something to complain about in my book.

I'm saying that I have seen FAR far worse last minute stand-ins for a fight than this guy, HF is still 'work in progress' so I really think it's not that bad and will give him a different kind of old experienced opponent
