Richie Woodhall and the Channel 5 commentary last night was an utter disgrace

When are people going to accept that despite being a Eubank and a few irritable traits personality wise...the fella can fight. BJS said he hasn't learnt anything from their fight - well he's starting quicker so he learned something!

The commentary was bias and I agree that the fight would have been stopped after 8 if the person he was fighting was not called Eubank

 

Good post and I fully agree. I actually like Woodhall as a commentator but he seemed to be watching a different fight to me. Everything punishing came from Eubank right from the start. I believe Richie scored the first a draw and the second for Blackwell. Wtf?

Also you make a good point about the punditry being fed to corners in between rounds in order for them to triangulate how the judges might be seeing it. If the punditry calls a close fight in a case like this, it could potentially lead to a man being sent back out to get beaten further. Let's have this right - it wasn't close. Not a single round was close - one or two were simply less eventful if Junior didn't dominate with hurtful combinations.

Woodhall has always supported the classic British upright boxing stance of a traditionally trained amateur and never acknowledges it has limitations.

I've never been a fan of his commentary for that reason but his post fight comments with BJS did reek of bias and whatever anyone says the BJS Eubank fight was close and Eubank only has himself to blame for that loss due to a very slow start.

Last night's fight was great, all credit to Nick Blackwell for showing a fighter's heart, he lost like a champion against a threshing machine. I hope he recovers with his faculties intact and I hope he got well paid - deserves every penny.

I actually like listening to Woodhall, in comparison to Johnny Nelson and Glenn McCrory on Sky who waffle absolute garbage all night.
