Eubank v Blackwell. Can't believe people and media falling 4 what Chris Eubank said.

Eubank Snr said what he said as a strategy of Eubank Jnr winning. Eubank Snr was not concerned about damage to the opponent.
You're talking about a showman who craves publicity. Are you really going to believe that?

Can I say this, everyone who steps into a boxing ring is going to get
'hurt'. If someone punches you in the head, tell me when does it not 'hurt'. A shot to the body, you're going to get 'hurt.'
A punch anywhere will hurt you unless you block it. Of course he was getting hurt. How could he not be hurt. But what the media have done, is they have taken this and added it what what eubank said about hitting the body and turned this into a statement which has completely different meaning to what was meant.

This is what a sane person would believe from Eubank's quote in the 8th round:
What happened up to this point, was Blackwell had a strong chin and Eubank Jnr couldn't knock him down no matter how many times he was being hit with uppercuts. At the end of the round, Eubank Snr told him to go for the body to beat him, just like he said earlier to him "Go for the trunk and tree wil fall.'
Not for the sake of keeping Blackwell safe, but the sake of his son winning. Eubank Snr did not want the fight going to the judges decision, in fact the reason why he was saying to Eubank Jnr "why hasn't the referee stopped the fight" was that he was worried about the points decision may go against them. And let me tell you about a judges decision...
In a points decision, it can be difficult to beat the defending Champion. A lot of decisions have gone the way of the defending champion, even when the challenger should have won. There was absolutely no guarantee Eubank would win the fight even if it went the distance.

If he had concern for Blackwell's safety, why say in round 9, in Eubank's words "I want you to take this guy out. I don't want it to go to a decision."

Banging on the ring, just meant he wanted his son to win at all costs. Remember, it only takes one punch to knock someone out. It may have been unlikely, but Blackwell could still have knocked Eubank Jnr out. Also, he did not want it to go to a points decision for the reason's mentioned above, as there was no guarantee he would win if it did go to a points decision.


ROUND 10 - when the fight was stopped by referee

Also, if Eubank Jnr did listen to what his father was saying, he obviously interpreted what his father said in one way and the media have interpreted it as something else... As Eubank Jnr was goading Blackwell and teasing him by sticking his head out in round 10, trying to sucker him in so Eubank Jnr could go for a knockout.
Goading an opponent is not just a lack of respect, but it shows the last thing on Eubank's Jnr's mind here was safety for the opponent, as he was trying to sucker him in. If Eubank Jnr had interpreted what Eubank Snr had said in the way the media are blagging it, Eubank Jnr would have kept backtracking to avoid hitting opponent and let the time run down instead of goading the opponent. Again, the idiot media and press are giving out false information to make a headline at the expense of a boxer's health, which is absolutely sick.

 

Unfortunately, a lot of people believe the nonsense printed by the press.
Most of the times lies sells papers and fetches headlines, not the the truth,
even when there is proof to say otherwise.
