Precious little on tap in the first eight days of April... This past weekend itself was pretty thin, with Broner vs. Theophane headlining a so-so PBC bill on Friday and then nothing major yesterday. (Adamek vs. Molina on daytime PPV, and then Ortega vs. Sánchez, Jr. and Santana vs. Paredes on the Spanish-language channels at night...but nothing in the US television market) Today, nothing whatsoever. (a few tiny Japanese club shows of no import, and glass jawed fraud Giovanni Andrade running his padded W column up to 70 by knocking out fellow tomato can Walter Rojas) Tomorrow and Tuesday and Wednesday - " This content is protected ". Thursday? A small club show in Tanzania and one in the US. (main events are 8- and 6-rounders) Friday? Eduard Troyanovsky vs. César René Cuenca II, and that's all. (pretty lackluster considering this is a rematch of a KO...and without Drozd vs. Makabu as the co-feature anymore) Saturday of course we have Martin vs. Joshua and Pacquiao vs. Bradley III but man, what a stretch of barren wasteland stretching back to Ward vs. Barrera that will have been.
Troya-Cuenca was a pretty shocking result for most in the hardcore following....The rematch could be interesting and one ivv been looking forward to....however ill be picking the fight the same as the first one....Troya KO Egis and Gvozdyk on the Pac Bradley card in Decent fights... Ponomarev vs Solomon Abe vs Ramirez Valdez vs Gradovich Jamie Mcdonnell Lee Selby Macklin vs Rose
All of those on the same two cards, though... and with hardly anything worth mentioning between them and February 26th, a fortnight prior. I was rooting hard for El Distinto and have been a skeptic of Troyanovsky, but honestly this rematch has repeat stamped all over it. The more interesting part of that card by far was Drozd vs. Makabu, and that's now off.
Cool...but is that going to conflict with the Russian card? I know the latter starts early (on the Match! Boets channel) but the main card on regular Match! TV (formerly Rossiya2) is set to air from 3pm EST. They could potentially clash..
The Jamaican Contender series gets very little promotion ...I've noticed the bouts don't even get listed on Boxrec until the day of. Still looking as though Corley is going to breeze through it? How much is left?
I'm only interested in the cuenca vs troy rematch and pac vs bradley 3 card.but yeah there will be a ton of boxing this week.
Yes, but we've got 2 great fights coming this month: Pacquiao-Bradley III (Elite Fighters) and then Spence-Algieri (huge step up for the roided Spence). :happy
Yeah, it got high praise from Beast, whose opinion I trust implicitly, as "war of the week". Planning to check it out! :good
i enjoyed all four main fights on that card actually. cardle and dodd took a little while to get going but became intriguing and competitive (and ultimately frustrating), while fielding rebrasse was one of those profoundly ugly kind of fights that ends up being satisfying just because they're both putting so much effort into slugging it out. i get why some would call that one a ****ty fight though.
