False. He threw more clinches than punches. As he did against Peter , Haye , Iggy....

There was no injury. It was a ploy to upset Fury's training schedule. Just like the canvas , the gloves , the trainers ...

Fury beat Wlad by UD in Germany even with a point deduction.

When fury UDs povetkin or wilder he's already creeping the top 25 hw list.

    Sparring session face.

Klitschko is 40 years old, at this age you can lose your form over night like Fury said himself. Fury said that Klitschko is showing a rapid decline and is getting old. He was already suspicious against Jennings. That was in no way shape or form the same Klitschko that fought Povetkin.

Fury is a product of good timing

That's called a mental battle dummy.

Fury went into that ring having prepared for the best ever version of Klitschko.

Klitschko had just signed a fresh 5 fight deal with RTL and was convinced , like all of his fans that he'd get past Fury. He thought it cos he still had the goods. His fanboi's thought it cos he still looked the goods.

He wouldn't get in the ring if he was less than 100%.

Yes, Fury's solidly in my top 40 right now. He's got the table set for him for higher advancement as well, if he beats Wlad again, beats Wilder/Pov winner, beats Martin/Joshua winner, he'd have a decent case for top 10-15. All within a few years. If he can do those things, successfully defend a few more years, and retires undefeated, he could have a half decent argument for GOAT. I don't think he'll do that, but he certainly has a chance.

All things considered and relatively speaking this is a huge fight one with era implicating results.

Yeah, Wlad's "shotness" is overestimated. I suspect Povetkin will suddenly become "old" and "shot" if he loses to Wilder, too.

That said, I do think there is reason to believe age played a factor. Some of the same failures with pulling the trigger were visible against Jennings. At the time, people thought it was a matchup problem, but considering his similar failure's with Fury, its reasonable to believe it may have been age.

Nevertheless, I think Fury's size and activity level (while he wasn't throwing punches, but he was always doing something to throw Wlad off) probably had more to do with Wlad's loss.

I think the OP is overstating it a bit, but most definitely this is a huge fight and an exciting, competitive battle in the HW division is most welcome. All respect to Wladimir, but his reign the past 6-7 years had been desultory and now there's new life breathed into the sport.

While the OP comes across as provocative, the reality is that the HW division is extremely thin historically and it's difficult to fill out a robust top 50. You might feel good about your top 15 or so, but once into the 30s it becomes difficult.

It partially illustrates the extent to which having to make weight harms fighters. Guys either drain themselves beyond belief or, more commonly, move up to weights where they're less effective.

Heavies never have to bother and a style that works at 31 might work into a fighter's late 30s.
