Even though Mcgregor still has his title to fall back on you have to wonder how a devastating loss like this going to effect his career moving forward. Diaz made him quit Margo/Cotto style and exposed his severe lack of stamina and heart.

He blew his stack. Nothing more nothing less. Thought he could blast him out, and no one blasts out Diaz.
Im guessing his diet was aimed at planning a cut to 155 in the final week or so so theres no way his body was equipped stamina wise to cope with the extra mass he's put on in just 2 months.
A minute into the second he looked like he'd done a marathon, puffing and blowing.
Diaz still deserves all the credit, he took some big shots himself and came back like an animal.

    Cool link, thanks. Very interesting.

The comments do point out a couple limitations of the study, though.

Nah.. boxers actually know how to protect their chin and keep it tucked in, it's not just the glove size.. A boxer can see the punches coming better thus lessening the effect, knows how to take some steam off it by rolling with it. Etc, etc.

What the hell is this bigger man bull****. They got on the scales the same weight and Nate was really flabby which contributes nothing to a fighter. It was the Hulk versus skinny fat guy. The only person would be fooled by the jump to weight classes excuse would be his granny.

He can, but anyone with a pulse will destroy him at that weight.

Diaz is a gate keeper at that weight which says it all really

155lbs he may be able to some success but he should stick to the midgets at 145lbs

The Diaz brothers are famous for having top level cardio. He might not have been in training camp but he definitely wasn't out of shape. Nate won that fight because he has some of the most effective boxing in the UFC.

The only training Diaz was into 2 weeks out was gobbling down carnita tortas and coronas by the bucket. This cherry pick blew up so hard that if it was a car, it would have blown the carburetor straight through the hood and taken the hood with it!
