163.8 is actually impressively light for Canelo 30 days before the fight. Per the previous weights Serge posted, Canelo will probably be the same in the ring, 164 rather than about 170 like he was for most of his recent fights. And this suggests he's training light, so he doesn't give Khan a significant speed advantage. I don't think 5 lbs will make a huge difference because I don't see any result other than a Canelo KO, but I suspect Canelo will look better a bit lighter. He'll move better on his feet, his punches will be snappier.

    This.. :deal

I think he can make 160lbs easy, thing is Khan is easy at 154 that would be natural weight for him, 155 will be a drained Canelo..

You guys are forgetting how young Canelo is. Athletes do this all the time. Jonny Hendricks in the UFC would weigh in at 170 and by fight night he'd be 190+. Alves too.

155 isn't a weightclass and Canelo can't weasel out of a Mandatory fight and can't make any demands. Either fight or drop the belt. It is that simple.

    Here's my take

    1) Canelo being 168 for Cotto and 164 for Khan doesn't mean he's drained. Plenty of fighters cut 10 lbs 30 days out.
    2) Cotto won the belt at 159 and defended it at 157. Golovkin can either hold out and A) fight at 160 IF it happens, B) hope Canelo gets stripped and fight for the vacant title or C) drop down to 155 to take the title and bring it back to 160.

Canelo looks in good shape whilst Khan just looks like a bloated 147 pounder.

GGG should have fought Canelo at 155.

Perhaps I'm being a bit mental, but the way he's been talking, and with the abuse he's apparently getting on that social media the kids have got nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if he got down to slightly lower than GGG precisely so these mongs could say he's the smaller man.
