Yes, unlike Marquez his legacy isn't tied to just that rivalry. It's literally a small part of what made Manny great.

Saying Marquez owes his legacy to Pacquaio is just so blatantly stupid considering the career Marquez had. It's a bit like saying Mayweather Jr owes his legacy to beating Pacquaio which again is stupid.

Pacquaio is a little over-rated by his fans, again, beautiful style to watch, jumped a ton of different weights but was never "the man" at 135, 140, nor 147, nor 154.

He's great, but not "the great"

This is one of those ESB threads where one guy keeps spewing inane garbage over and over and eventually is just left talking to himself.

Sure it is. Or it's one of those ESB threads where fan boys over-rate a fighter and get annoyed when someone points out the reasons why he's over-rated.

You're still forgetting, I have him #3 in this generation. The fact that you're so angry about that should show you how stupid you are.

Those two aren't even remotely the same. You act like I insulted Marquez by saying the rest of his career was bad or something. Marquez had a great career outside of paquiao. The fact remains though that Marquez was completely unappreciated until Pacquiao came along and helped put him on the map.

Looking at their careers as a whole, Pacquiao destroys Marquez in that comparison. As much of a legend as he is, Marquez losing to Chris John and Bradley and barely winning against Barrera in the later stages of his career did no favours for his legacy.

I don't believe in greatest or rankings, I see greats as knights at a round table.

One of the best ever. Top 2 of this generation. At this stage he's past his physical prime....a half a step slower but still the best welterweight and possibly best jr. Welterweight in the world. Beating Bradley for a 3rd time isn't a surprise but it does validate Manny's status as the best at 147. I would like to see Crawford and Manny at 140 or a catchweight of 143 or 144. The winner of Khan / Nelo vs Manny is interesting at 155 too. But that's only if Pac doesn't decide to retire.

Pacquiao is a great fighter. 3rd best of this generation behind Mayweather and Hopkins.
