There was an American who had a severe brain/skull injury who was allowed to fight again. His name has completely escaped me decent fringe contender was not the same afterwards. I can't imagine the British board of control allowing it and that's probably for the best. 24 he's got years to do something with his life

 

Why bother, he already knows now he is domestic level at best and he has had a serious injury so packing up is the best option.

Stayed retired for a couple of years and then started a comeback, claiming he was healed. After winning half a dozen of fights against weak opponents, he took good advice and retired undefeated before getting hurt again. He's the last white american heavyweight contender we´ve heard of.

Maybe his injury is similar to Peter Cech https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petr_Čech#Head_injury

Cech was able play again but had to wear helmet because another head trauma could be fatal with weakened skull.
