I will make my point and you are free to disagree let's compare 2 win's C.Baldomir to E.Morales II. Now on the surface Erik is the more recognizable name so will automatically be looked at as a better win.
Granted PRIME Morales is an ATG but Morales was coming off a loss going into both fight's with Manny and after EM-MP I, lost like 4/5 STRAIGHT fight's before retiring for a year or so.

Baldomir who is no great by any stretch was unbeaten for close to 10 years at WW culminating in an upset win over the then legitimate #1 WW an Undisputed WW Champ Judah who himself is a borderline HOFer, afterward fought top contenders up to 168.

Overall while I'd rate El Terrible >>>>>>>>>>>> over Tata,
Mayweather over Baldomir is a better yet less exiting win than Pacquiao over Morales in the rematch.
More recognizable (Morales II) higher quality(Baldomir).

Again though that's just my opinion, feel free to debate.

Pacquiao and Mayweather's accomplishments and careers are pretty close. This isn't a case of Duran's career vs Leonard's, who had 80 more fights than Leonard. Pacquiao's 15 more fights than Mayweather don't mean anything because he turned pro young and his early career was basically an amateur career. Mayweather's competition at 130 was much greater than Pac's at 122, and those were the divisions they fought in when they were both at their physical peaks. At welterweight, Pac had the greater high, when he beat Hatton and Cotto, but Floyd beat beat the same guys, fought more natural welterweights, and had the more consistent welterweight career.

The point is if Mayweather didn't have the greater career it's at worse similar. And a fighter can only be ranked greater than a guy he lost to if he had the much greater career otherwise. So their fight has to be significant. And Mayweather beat Pac convincingly, almost shutting him out. They might be the two greatest fighters of their era, but Mayweather's greater.

This statement is flawed. Floyd fought almost all the top contenders in and around his weight range and (in most experts eyes) beat them all. Most of the time in dominating fashion. He didn't have a Leonard-hearns or Ali-foreman victory because it wasn't on the menu. No one ever forced him to throw caution to the wind. He was just that dominant.

They both have very similar careers but, or me, floyds clear technical dominance men's he will be regarded as better.

 

He didn't have a career defining fight because he never fought in one. He never fought great fighter at their peak.

 

And you would have been wrong just like you were on May 2nd. Pac back then would have been a much easier fight for PBF than it was for him on May 2nd. Pac back then was mone one-dimensional and more reckless.:deal

Maybe I wasn't clear; there wasn't really a career-defining fight available to him excluding pacquiao 2009 (for which they are both to blame for). Who else could be reasonably have fought for a "career-defining fight"?

Try to mention people in the divisions he fought at

 

Mayweather is greater end of. Students and teachers will be studying his fights for decades to come for how a fighter wins fights. Put it this way I still wouldn't favour any fighter to best him from 135-154 right now. Pacquaio did more with less but that doesn't make him greater. In the end Mayweather dominated him too. I'm a big Pacquaio fan but Mayweather will go down as the greater fighter. Better skills too.
