If no one can approach your old time hero's to the extent its offensive to you to even see it suggested, when we can't know just how good their career will get, I suggest you stop following the modern sport.

    I don't take advice.

Fury and Joshua are just a couple of knobs who are fortunate to be operating in a heavyweight wasteland. If it was the 90s or 70s they'd be just a couple fringe contenders.

That's reasonable. But I find it suspect how the era went from being poor and mediocre to one of the best in history in a period of few months after Klitschko lost...I think we need some perspective here.
We have a lot of guys with undefeated records who could make good fights with each other, but a lot of them are still wild cards. Joshua is completely unproven as far as I'm concerned. Wilder has been tested and hasn't had outstanding marks as of yet. Fury is coming off an excellent win but he needs to capitalize on the momentum and him fizzling out is a real possibility. I'll take my time and see how things play out first before rating any of them.

Ali-Jones was more in the realm of Klitschko-Purrity, Tyson-Tillis, a case of a prospect having a hard time with an experienced gate-keeper. But Wilder has been pro for 8 years and is already a champion at his peak, struggling with a guy like Szpilka who was easily beaten by Jennings is just not acceptable. I'll happily eat my crow if he beats Povetkin but I just don't see it.

Sure, and Earnie Shavers would be a dominant champ today. Keep living in that nostalgia bubble.

Wilder was leading but more importantly he was starting to dominate, they hadn't even reached the championship rounds yet?

Szpilka was just a bit awkward for Wilder but he found a way to break him down

Yeah, it'll make sense when you're older.

Ah yes, the old adage, "with great age comes great arrogance".

    Fury-Joshua would be Ali-Foreman 2.0

Bigger, taller, heavier, stronger versions of the ATG's.

Fury vs Kingpin Johnson was such a beauty!

And Joshua vs Kingpin was a complete blow out.

Joshua looks more like a young Klitschko than a Foreman-type-fighter though.

Foreman blew Frazier own both times, while Ali struggled with him but beat Foreman... Fury shut Kingpin out, Joshua became the 1st to stop him and did so inside of 2 rounds. Safe to say that Kingpin is no Frazier though, that's for sure.

yeah but remember Ali was nearly stopped by a 185lb henry cooper and everyone thought Ali had a glass chin then in his very next fight he destroyed the biggest puncher in the world sonny liston.
