Would true middleweight legends such as hagler monzon and the like

and of course for "arguments sake"....lets talk about ggg talking about fighting Floyd....whom is 2 divisions lower than ggg......would be a big risk/legacy cementing fight for a guy like Floyd...I mean he takes that and wins hes prob top 10 atg......but of course Floyd already has a legacy...a hof and atg career

ggg on the otherhand....has a resume that equates to basically nothing...no real legacy other than knocking out a bunch of c/b- level middleweights in a pretty weak era for that division

so me thinks a guy like ggg could have boosted his legacy by fighting a guy who has fought 95 percent of his fights one division north of 160....

but of course ggg plays it safe.....which is fine...just don't have a bunch of fanboys running around like yer a god....

 

Canelo has to fight GGG, GGG doesn't have to fight Ward herein lies the difference. Do you know why mandatory fights exist? It's exactly for situations like these.

 

The thing that gets me is if you asked pretty much any boxing fan prior to GGG or what noy about CW title fights they'd say how it's bad for boxing and shouldn't happen... Especially since they bashed Pac for it lol... But jow that it's a fighter they dislike who has to deal with it, suddenly it's okay.

what you fail to understand is ....canelo DOESNT have to fight ggg!!!

he can drop the belt....or he cant let the corrupt WBC do his workings for him and keep it without fighting ggg.....

either way...he doesn't have to fight GGG!!!!

the actual funny part is......all of those people who defended pac are the ones now complaining....that's the actual irony here........we had to listen to all you pac stans over and over about how it was ok.......how pac dicates terms cause hes the a-side and this and that.....and now that we came around to accepting it....its you who doesn't like it because its working against a fighter you embrace

No ****, but as long as he has that belt it's his obligation as a champion to fight GGG who's put himself in the mandatory spot for it as well as other top middleweights (at full limit).

 

Martinez came up from welter, through junior middle, but I don't remember him asking for 155 when he came up against full blown middleweights.

 

He's allowed one defense, and no, no catchweight. Is this what you want? Welterweights fighting for MW title and exchanging it with catchweights? I'm not going to make an exception for Khan.

And if he needs to get used to the weight he should have moved up first maybe before fighting for the title, look at Ward, he didn't fight for the title first and then decided it's time to get used to the weight.
