Is it true that is someone uses head movement in his gym goes crazy and makes them run laps? Accept they cant do laps in a circle only up and down in a straight line because joe doesn't like lateral movement either, says its for wimps Id love to see his training methods where he can create so many identical fighters with no head movement who only walk forward in straight lines, it must be a joy to behold
We all talk about fighters fighting to a game plan and to be adaptable all JG fighters fight in almost identical styles. It makes no sense not to encourage good head movement in a fighter.Slipping shots and countering one of the great fighters traits rather than predictive walking forward and taking shots even if they are only hitting gloves in a high guard. The top level fighters are adaptable so should a top level trainer.
We cant say what he is like in the gym His boxers do tend to be very fit. But we can hear and see the work he does in the corner - and its not great. He is distinctly uninspiring, and cant read a fight at all. He really let himself down badly with his guff about the McGuigans before Quigg 'fought' Frampton. Boy did young Shane win that one! Wiped thr floor with Joe.
JG on Shane Mac was pretty poor why try to get under the opposite trainers skin?Pointless and has little or no bearing on the fight. The actual telling point for me was Quigg's reaction to being told how far behind he was on the cards end of 8th Len if i remember right? His face was a picture of almost disbelief because Quigg fought to JG game plan and a poor one it was,the better man won on the night no doubt.JG gets his fighters very fit but there are many holes in his corner work.
I now MW - the gas of it all was that he changed his "tactics" only when he heard what Sky were saying. Sky! What "world-class" trainer takes his cue from sky pundits ffs? atsch Madness, sheer madness. :|
Peter Fury on the back of one successful fighter compared to a whole load of fighters for every other contender for the award? Okay....
