https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zdaXPe21Nc Both the Ward and Kovelev team have contacted Slava to fight in the summer. Let's be real here Slava has no chance against Ward or Kovalev. The question is who does he have a better chance of beating? I'd say he take his chances of Ward, and Kovalev should fight Fonfora instead.
shabranksy is with main events....so contacting kovas team prob isn't too hard...lol kinda seems pointless to put shabranksy in with kovalev when kova is gonna fight ward anyway......why have kova cancel out shabranksy when you can get another crack at ward......If shabranksy loses he loses...but he was gonna lose to kova anyway...if he wins in a huge upset then you put on shabranksy/kova......
Probably better chance beating Ward, I remember he got dropped by some low level guy three, four times, maybe he was drained or just got caught cold but yeah, a power puncher like Kovalev could really be bad news for him.
in this rare instance you are correct...I was thinking of that heavyweight they have with a similar name....identical first name
Glazkov? Man, I hate that guy. Calling him bland doesn't even come close. Nah - Shabransky's a decent prospect - probably better than Barrera, though not as good as Gvozdyk IMO. I don't think he gives Ward or Kovalev big problems though.
ya koba...that's who I was thinking about oddly enough...main events website still have glazkov and barrera listed as undefeated LOL...time to update me thinks
I thought Ward struggled badly against Barrera, he looked really rusty. Looking back at the fight, he still did enough to win a decision but his offense was lacking, and defensively he was getting hit more often than usual. The inactivity really hurt him despite what Hunter says, not just because of the rust, but he could have improved more as a boxer during those years he was inactive. Ward should look much sharper in his next fight. I don't think Chad has any more confidence in himself to really pose a threat to Kovalev, it would be kind of sad. If Chad wants to win a title again let's see if he can at least beat a top 15lhw.
Good God.....not yet. I'd rather see Gvozdyk beat Yunieski, Slava, Fonfara, Monaghan, Barrera, Bektemirov, Alvarez, Chilemba build himself up an impressive resume and then face one of those two, it would make it far more significant that way. This bull**** of this guy has one decent win.....put him in with the best in the division needs to end. And I say this as a huuugggeee Gvozdyk fan.
Two immensely talented amateurs (with a combined 300+ amateur bouts, losing something like a dozen between them) with styles that have adapted well in the pros and kept them unbeaten. Okay, that's on the surface. Now, one former amateur star is a gold medalist and the other never even reached the Olympiad (though in fairness to Shabranskyy that's because he suffered the rotten luck of being around in the Usyk era and was thus always second-fiddle in the Ukrainian 91kg division) and has boatloads more experience, with half as many world title fights as his counterpart has pro fights, period...and coming off a schooling of an unbeaten pro with a touted amateur career from perhaps the only nation that produces more impressive world-class amateurs than does the Ukrainian (and maybe Kazakh and Azerbaijani) program... :think On paper we shouldn't even be discussing this until double-Y accomplishes far more.
