I'm biased cause I'm Nica.... So you know my answer to this Pimp without even going into boxing reasons. LOL
I agree. Donaire only started seriously getting hurt when he moved up in weight. Lets see Roman move up to fight Walters. Even then, Donaire was still hurting Walters. It was just a case of size, Walters could absorb more than Donaire. Rigo is smaller than Donaire. If Roman is a true pound4pound, he should move up to fight him, the only other pound for pound around that weight class. Great pound for pound fighters have always moved up in the past. SRL, Floyd, Duran, Pac, RJJ, ODLH the list goes on. The talent pool at flyweight is poor.
Exactly donaire is criminally underrated here almost forgotten about he's a hof fighter. He's still a very good fighter today he only lost against Walters no shame in that at least he tested himself and rigo who's arguably the best fighter in the world. Donaire IMO was all wrong for Gonzalez. Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
When Donaire fought Walters he was obviously past it, looking at his performance vs an also past it Vic. He still hurt the bigger man. Nonito beats Chocolatito.
Based on what? He will get stopped with his leaky defense by a bigger man and a bigger puncher. Donaire would make Gonzalez weary of his power and after that the fight is over. Gonzalez isn't rigo who could frustrate him with atg footwork and craft. Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
Donaire is undoubtedly an ATG Flyweight. He was an absolute monster and has a good shot. I pick Gonzalez, through. He's far more than your very good pressure fighters.
They are both two of my favorite active/recent fighters. They are two of the best fighters of the last 10-15 years... It's clearly not an easy fight for either of them. Not sure how I feel about it. Perhaps I would lean toward Roman but Donaire has/had a lot of the things that I believe trouble him. Close to a 50/50 fight either way, and I don't think that is selling either of them short.
