Both Golovkin and Canelo are bigger than the joke WBC MW title.

Canelo would litreally be moving up if the fight was held at the 160 limit, which imo is perfectly normal, and acceptable. However, Canelo has stated that he will fight GGG at 155.

Do we as fans really care about a corrupt, useless, pathetic title, or do we want to see two of the best fighters square off?

GGG fans should want to see their hero against a live body, whether its at 155 or 168.

Against Ward, At Golovkin weight (164) what would be the main reason for this fight happening when it was being considered? For the SMW title, or to see two top guys fighting each other.

Gomez is right, both GGG and his fans are hypocrites.

I suppose GGG should just accept the 90/10 offer as well?

What will the 3rd,4th, and 5th hurdles then be?

How about just let it go to purse bid, then it's MW limit, with a standard 65/35(75/25?) split and the fight gets done

If GGG held a Super Middleweight belt and refused to fight Ward, then this would be similar to Canelo.
But GGG doesn't have a Super Middleweight belt.
In the Middleweight division, you have a belt holder not wanting to fight another MW belt holder at the MW weight. That's the problem.

exactly if he held a 168 title and refused to unify and ward was mando and ducked than it would be the same

Abel already said: The only "offer" ever from Ward's team came like 20 minute after the Lemieux fight was signed. Guess who told Ward about it? Yes, Hopkins.

Just a huge bluff. They would never fight GGG and I even dout they are going to fight Kovalev.

Gomez couldn't be more spot on. I'm glad he called GGG and his fans out about it.

I wonder how outraged you idiots would be if GGG had won a major title at 168, Ward was his mandatory, AND THEN demanded 164. Because, ya know, then that would be an actual duck and not the fictitious one you morons keep harping about.

    Umm, that's nonsense.

Anything under 160lbs is MW...he could weigh 153 if he wanted.

    Theres nothing ILLEGAL about it.

The whole 155 thing may be annoying, but as long as guys are willing to fight him at that weight, he can keep doing it
