I just dont think he's seen brezeale fight. He is awful, mansour was unlucky not to stop him. Its an absolute pointless fight
If OP's wife came home at 3am with her dress on inside out, no panties, and her lipstick smudged he'd say hi darlin how was the book club.
This fight will be sold as two Olympians and both undefeated, it sounds good. But it's more a facade to draw in the general public.
Fury is going in on Hearn on Twitter right now. I think he's had a few beers and worked himself up about them stealing the IBF title from him.
The Breazeale dude beat Mansour because Mansour bit into his own tongue after dropping Breazeale hard - even worse than bum Martin's 'win' on Glazkov. His other result of note is a bent decision on Kassi. No, Joshua could have faced a decent guy in Duhaupas but shamelessly ducked. Even worse Molina was the second choice. Hearn is a conman.
There has - quite rightly - been an incredibly negative reaction online to this opponent. It's hugely unfortunate timing for Matchroom, Joshua and Hearn that Breazedale clearly lost to the guy Hughie Fury is fighting this weekend. It's a REALLY tough sell. People are dumb but not THAT dumb. Plus as basic as Charles Martin turned out to be he had a bit of charisma. Breazedale has literally none. There can be no gloves off for this ...
:good Spot On. The more I think about it the more I think making AJ Vs Breazeale is embarrassing for all involved, Sky and Matchroom surely can't make this a PPV event with that as the main event. Breazeale is awful, he shouldn't be anywhere near a world title fight. Hearn will do his best to try and brainwash anybody who cares to listen, I can hear Hearn now.... "I'm really nervous for Anthony, this guy is 6"7 and can bang, unbeaten, 17 wins, 15 KO's so it's a huge risk for a first defence but that's the sort of man AJ is, he wants tough, dangerous fights" It actually makes me feel sick
The fact that the IBF ratings and rules leave Hearn/AJ with these kind of options/opponents just UNDERLINES what a farce and a set-up their whole "world championship" bullsh!t is ! Deontay Wilder rightly received a lot of criticism for being a paper champion, and will do until defeats Povetkin, if indeed he can. Even beating Povetkin won't make him a legit champion, but it will make him a legit rival to the winner of Fury/Klitschko (ie. THE REAL CHAMPION). Anthony Joshua should receive the same treatment as any fighter, no special treatment because he's Britain's golden boy and promoted by SKY television.
Think people missed the point i was making. I agree that breazeale isnt that good, but he was one of only a few options. None of the options were that good. Definately not etter that this guy really, but he is keeping busy until the mando situation unfolds and until he can get in with Haye/Fury/Klitschko. I expect another similar fight in november Mando in Jan then hopefully hell make one of the big fights next year. but i do think people are eing a it harsh in breazeale though
Thing is Wilder has faced FAR better opposition to Joshua. This fight is a joke, and quite frankly, it makes all Hearn's antics at the end of the Martin fight laughable. 'We'll fight anyone, he takes them all out. No-one can stand up to AJ." - And then this is the tripe opponent we get. An American Gary Cornish. What's even worse is Fury was getting stick on twitter for pointing out how bad this opponent is. You can bet after AJ KO's this guy in 2 Rounds that the twitter hype is going to go through the roof
I completely get your point, where we disagree is just how pony Breazeale is. He is literally appalling. I get the need to tell a story (Olympian vs Olympian...even if it was a battered in the first round Olympian vs Gold Medallist) and his record is pretty, but for me it's bad MANAGEMENT, not bad PROMOTION which is what really bothers me down the line. If AJ was fighting Breazeale without the belt, I don't think there would be as much issue - but now he has it, there is a responsibility to try and unify. To do that (and I really hope he does) he needs to LEARN on the job and this fight won't teach him anything. Stiverne, I think, would at least teach him that not everyone falls over on first clean connection. As I said, good promotion - it will sell - bad boxing management.
I get what you mean dubstep. I'd like to see Stiverne next if there's still no one else available. Parker should become mando. That will be a good fight in jan. The fury fight will be at Wembley so realistically it won't happen till next summer anyway. It's just biding time, keeping busy and fighting whoever is available.
The bottom line is Hearn was afraid of Duhaupas and couldn't trust his glass chinned hype job to take on The Reptile. He'll stop Breazeale in a few rounds and prove nothing to nobody.
