...please just don't say Axe Man. He officially has only fought once at the weight, and Sosa wasn't a top 5 opponent and had arguably done little outside the blitz of Belmontes to justify being in a top 15. I don't agree with the draw and feel that Walters did enough to comfortably outpoint Sosa, but still. That's just a single opponent at the weight, and the performance didn't suggest to me that Walters could waltz in and clean house (even with the doors blown off now by the Uchiyama vs. Corrales upset)

Leaning toward either that, Sniper, or the Panamanian upstart myself (just based on Ric Flair logic).

Lomachenko is debuting at super feather in his world title shot and isn't beating the best guy there in Martínez- and if Rocky does spring the upset it doesn't counteract enough of his negative results (losses and draws) and robberies in his 2012-2013 reign...plus, there is the argument that he's beating a smaller guy moving up and unproven at the weight (no matter how well regarded Vasyl may be).

Fortuna is just awful.

 

Bandido and Siri are in the position to have the biggest single victory at the weight outside Corrales' - and while Uchiyama is a bigger scalp than either, both have considerably deeper résumés than Corrales at the moment.

 

h2h this division is a real puzzle.

 

Hell, a guy like Mijares (who is actually for some reason still rated at featherweight despite having not fought there for 2 fights now, since 2014) could theoretically establish himself as the kingpin if he caught the right titlist with a favorable stylistic match-up and made a couple of credible defenses. That would be some feat, considering he is a natural super flyweight years removed from his prime and never considered a puncher with a chin that has been eroded over the years - but I could actually see him pulling it off with the proper matchmaking. That's how wide open this division is.
