Why not? He can speak his mind. He's accomplished far more than you, gets tons of exposure, and can be the voice of many boxing fans.

    You can only wish.

Oscar is a loved boxing idol.

There is a ststue of him in Los Angeles. People still watch his fights because they were exciting, they respect his willingness to fight the best. He has won over Mexico and is constantly on Mexican media. Latin America knows who he is and is welcomed in many countries over there.

He is filthy rich, has really great investments outside of boxing, and is a great philanthrapist. He has a High School where nearly all the students graduate and end up going to college, he also has a White Memeorial Hospital, a huge hospital in L.A. and has donated buses to pick up those who don't have the means to get there for services. He has boxing gyms where less fortubnate kids can train at no cost.

    Oscar is the man!! :good

Oscar fought everyone unlike Floyd, the only person he did not fight was Winky Wright, but that's because Winly turned down the fight for some reason.

Kudos for the philanthropic side of Oscar. If he has done all that you say he has done then he will have touched more people through his good deeds than through his boxing prowess.

Too bad he never wins any of those fights though... but lets say Floyd did fight Hopkins and lets say he won. You'd just flip your stance and flip your opinion. Now Hopkins was old, past prime, already beaten, etc...just like you say Oscar was old, Mosley was old, Pacquiao was old, Cotto was old.

When it comes to Floyd its amazing how everybody suddenly becomes too old or too young, I guess Floyd is still 26

Don't get me wrong, I agree with pretty much everything Oscar said and I think Oscar, Canelo/GGG aside, is a great person. I just thought writing this letter was a bit unprofessional and it doesn't really accomplish anything except throw chum in the troll infested waters.

For anyone here to say it is wrong and disrespectful to write that letter about Floyd is flat out hypocrital unless you never speak ill of ANY boxer here ever.

We constantly post on the worldwide web for anyone to see, our opinions on boxers. But when Oscar does it he should not have spoke his mind? Hypocrites.

I agree with some of the points Oscar made. Others seem petty. But it's his opinion and he saw things on a totally different spectrum from us, the public, did so he probably knows more than we all do.

He is turning into a weird Jim Carey type character if this letter is indeed real.

How could you be mad at a man who fight his fight. That's like telling Mike Tyson to fight more like Ali or Pac more like Floyd. Floyd style of fighting was well known by every fighter he fought. If we wanted to see Floyd in a dog fight. It was his opponent job to bring it out of him. Oscar just mad he couldn't do what Floyd did.

Oscar de la Hoya was always a *****. Giving the silver spoon his whole career starting with the Olympics.
