Some decent match ups coming up. Southampton puncher, Joe Pigford took a step up in class and just TKO'd Mike Byles in the first round. Poor technique but he is VERY powerful puncher, nine stoppages in 10 fights. He'll be fun to watch. Boy Jones stopped some no-hoper, he still looks like a light hitting average fighter, but lots of time on his side. Vijender Singh won by stoppage against a fairly durable foe, but he won't learn much facing this level of opposition.
Pigford might get starched, but he clearly has power and a good right hand, that can make him a feared fighter domestically. But he did struggle against Simone Lucas and was fortunate he found the money shot. Glad he's moving up in 'class' at least.
Yarde looks powerful, he could win a domestic title or go further. Very weak division domestically (and in Europe) brutal finish.
Was just thinking this. His jab was very solid. Uses the shoulder roll and seems v powerful. I enjoyed that display
This is a good fight, Walsh has early success but Tennyson looks like a man who won't be denied and came back well in the third his uppercut looks like a real weapon.
Walsh takes the fourth round, as Tennyson starts to gas after that third round effort. But Tennyson seems more comfortable with Walsh's power, but he is a bit too close to Walsh for a tall fighter, he needs to use the jab more.
Good fight, Walsh's accuracy told in the end and those body shots were brutal, he fights like Gavin Rees used to, he's quick with his combinations and throws from all angles. Maybe he should move up a level again.
To be fair to Channel 5 he usually headlined the undercard on Spike TV. The last time against Guinn was a farce but at least he's now fighting in the main event slot against a durable and somewhat dangerous Kassi.
