Wilder for me is a slight favorite vs Povetkin

Charr and Takam have better chins than Wilder, especially Takam, who would beat Wilder himself. Also Mike Perez, holder of a granite chin, got KTFO in one. Heck, Povetkin even stopped Wach and would be the only one to accomplish that.

Maybe we should talk how Molina went 9 rounds with Wilder, almost had Deontay down. The same Molina who got knocked cold by Arreola and Ashanti Jordan. Duhaupas would have lasted the distance with him if the ref didn't stop the fight, and Szpilka, holder of a glass jaw, was winning the fight until his glass jaw got caught by a clean punch.

It's clear you don't have a clue about this sport. Povetkin will destroy Wilder, it's so easy to see.

I thought you might have learned your lesson after you picked Martin to beat Joshua and Wach to beat Povetkin. Guess what, you'll be terribly wrong again.

 

I don't think this will be an easy fight for either of them. I'm slightly favouring Povetkin though based upon what we've seen from the 2 of them.

Wilder has power and can beat Povetkin at range, question is can he keep him there. People see Wilder's height and reach and automatically think he will win because of this, believing Povetkin struggles with tall fighters. But Povetkin easily beat Wach and he had no trouble getting into range against Wlad, he just wasn't allowed to work in close because of Wlad's clinching, something Wilder doesn't do.

I think Povetkin will have more opportunities to get his shots off against Wilder than he did against Wlad. But Wilder does have power and he's busier and better at mid range than Wlad so I don't think it's going to be easy for Povetkin but he should prevail.

 

Pretty much agree with your assessment. Povetkin can take a hard shot, we know that. Wilder hits hard sure but I've not seen him stop anyone I wouldn't expect Povetkin to stop either. Wilder is very athletic but his footwork is poor, which I think will allow Povetkin to get inside his jab.

I've been a Wilder critic for a long time. If he beats Povetkin then nothing but praise from me but I think he's getting iced. Either way, I'm really looking forward to it. Credit to Wilder for travelling across to Russia too without making any fuss

Wilder has only one top 20 ranked opponent on his resume after 36 fights and 3 defences of his title and that is Stiverne.

Stiverne is nowhere on the level of Povetkin.

This is uncharted territory for the amateur basketball player, with the punching technique of a first year junior boxer.

Wilder gets stunned, knocked down multiple times, and stopped whilst doing the chicken dance trying to get up.

Wilder is done and dusted if he gets in the ring and faces Povetkin.

The bookies odds just reflect where the money is being laid- gullible casual fans most likely see Wilder as some sort of power puncher, based off him knocking out a load of Brian Neilsen level of opponents.

Pretty sure he would beat Wilder's best opponents in a more convincing matter as Wilder himself did.

 

When you spend your whole career facing Brian Nielsen level opponents, its for a good reason...its generally because you are no world beater and building up a padded record.

As you say anyone who is at least half decent, with that level of opponent is going to look like a power puncher
