You guys think ward can win a title at heavyweight

He could do a RJJ, he is good enough. But he would have to time it well cuz the champions Wilder, AJ and Fury aswell as the wanabe champs, Vlad, Povetkin, Haye and Ortiz would do serious damage to Ward. To put him in with one of them would be just shocking.

 

I assume that he could not beat the number one in any future generation, they are just too big and that nullifies talent to a degree. Wouldn't put him pulling a jones jr and getting a trinket out of the question though

 

David Haye said he could against a small heavyweight.

Haye himself would bomb Ward out as would somebody like Povetkin. Maybe a really weak, small titlist. Ward, for all his ability, is a lot less talented than Jones was.

 

RJJ at heavy was a joke. He cherry picked Ruiz, the worst belt holder in years, a guy who looked like he was tripping over his own feet for crying out loud. That wasn't anything special. Not to mention Roy ruined his career when he dropped back down in weight.

RJJ timed his Heavyweight shot very carefully and managed to get Ruiz. Lets not get carried away and think RJJ took on one of the top Heavy's. There is no one that small at the top for Ward to fight. Pov and Haye (supposing he picked up another title) but they would both destroy him. Ward never goes to Heavy imo.

 

I totally agree, I meant he is skillfull enough to snatch a belt from a really poor champion. I also agree it would be the dumbest thing Ward could do with his career.

 

Ward also isn't going to "grow into" heavyweight either like a Holyfield or Moorer. He doesn't have the strength/durability of a Holyfield or the explosive power of a Moorer. Heavyweights would just walk through Ward.

 

Yeah winning a decision over Lucas Browne wouldn't make that much of an accomplishment for me.
