Broner moved up from light weight(135) to welter weight(147) to fight Malinaggi and Maidana, skipping Jr. welter weight (140). Khan is jumping from 147 with no title or big wins to the middle weight light limit of 155 for a 160 title shot and gets all of this praise. We all know that he is getting knocked out cold and Broner was knocked down twice by a man on a knock out streak who KOd, Morales, Karass, and Lopez, but could not knock out a lightweight. Give Broner his due respect if you respect Khan for being nothing more than a desperate attention *****.
Maidana didn't KO Morales:nono Morales arguably won that match.:deal They're both *****s and I don't like either of them.
You can't possibly compare these cases. Broner is a huge 135 lb fighter that can't make weight. Khan is an average size welter. Plus Malinagi is feather-fisted and Madan was viewed as a limited brawler.
Also at least Khan who's a feather fist beat Paulie so badly he got the stoppage, although it was a little bit of a BS stoppage, but Broner never came close to hurting Paulie, and even though I scored Khan-Maidana a draw, he at least managed to drop Maidana, and even Khan who has the glassiest jaw in the sport of boxing never went down against Maidana, even though if I were the ref I'd have stopped it in round 10 he was taking such a beating. Broner on the other hand got brutally molested by Chino. Broner who was the bigger man, in spite of what official stats say and supposedly a bigger puncher and he looked horrible against both of them.
Khan survived Maidana and Broner clearly lost, and Khan schooled a better version of Paulie while Broner edged him. Broner got the much bigger hype though, while he had gotten 2 blatant gifts already prior to the Maidana debacle. They even put him in the top5 P4P briefly, and some fools here actually believed that was justified.
Khan did not fight Maidana at 147 trained under Garcia, if he did he would've got ****d worst than broner. Maidaina was weak at 140, fact. Khan beat a one dimensional green maidana and also got his head torn off in the process.
Khan has done better versus their shared opposition(Malignaggi and Maidana), has fought more legitimate opponents, and has done it over a longer period of time. I think Canelo ices him relatively easily, but there's no comparison between Broner and Khan in terms of who's more worthy of hype, Khan has proven a lot more over the course of his career than Broner has. There's still time for Broner to catch up as he is still relatively young, but everything indicates he doesn't possess the dedication to do so.
This is a joke. Broner got way more hype during his career than he ever deserved as it is. The only people praising Khan are people who will look for any reason to dismiss Golovkin and those too dumb to realize it was a cash grab without nothing to lose and a way to duck Brook.
