If Canelo drops WBC then asks GGG for 155, what excuses will you fans come up with?

It has been reported that El Pollo Alvarez weighs around 181lbs. fight time. The title that chicken Alvarez has is the 160 lb. title, it always has been. If El Pollo is afraid to fight a 160 lb. fighter, then he should have the WBC 160 lb. title taken away. Golovkin usually weighs in at 159, Ward can't make 168 anymore, he fought lightheavy in the amateurs............HBO is trying to get Ward into the ring with Kovalev, but Ward does not want to......................Ward ran from Stevenson, even at 168!

Never said it did I'm just stating a fact.

If you believe GGG is ducking Canelo by not draining down to the mythical weight of 155 then by that logic we can say Ward ducked Golovkin because he didn't drain himself to 164.

I wouldn't mind but 155 isn't even mid middleweight range.

Collected most of the belts in the division with previous victims able to sign without weight watchers conditions.

Now for Canelo to show his proud Mexican warrior heritage ready to meet all challengers without fear nor condition and despatch them without controversy...... or maybe not.

How's 155 "mythical weight" It's the MW lower limit, just as 160 is the top limit.

So YES, that's within MW range.:deal

So you admit that the middleweight range is 155 to 160.

    And not 155 to 155.

155 is the semi-mythical "Caneloweight" belt. If you can win at that weight you are la creme de la creme. It's so elite that there's only ever been one title holder :D

Because at the moment, he doesn't need to.

There's no cowardice in a MW champ refusing to fight the the lineal champ at a CW.

When I think of Canelo's behaviour, it just makes me think of Roberto Duran fighting Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler and Iran Barkley.

    How sad.

I was disappointed that Duran didn't drag Barkley down to 154 :-( These Panamanians have no sense of how it's done :nono

''My last two opponents outweighed me by about 8-10lbs on fight night. Edwin Rodriguez was over 190lbs, like a 192, 193. Paul Smith was 192, 193''

    --Andre Ward

Ward fought Rodriguez in late 2013

Paul Smith pushed for his fight against Ward to be at a catchweight of 170 at the negotiating table but Ward and his team refused to budge and insisted it had to be at 172. Ward moved up to 175 because he can't make 168 anymore. In his first fight up at full LHW he weighed 186. Almost 3lbs more than what Kovalev weighed against Najib Mohammedi last July. IIRC, 186 is Kovalev's third highest recorded ring weight.

    (2012)

    Canelo 167 - Mosley 164

    Canelo 164 - Josesito 165

    (2013)

    Canelo 172 - Trout 171

    (2014)

    Canelo 171 - Lara 166

Canelo 174 - Angulo 170 - some sources say it was Canelo who weighed 170 and Angulo who was 174. Portly Dan and Kevin Iole both tweeted Canelo was 174 and Alfredo was 170.

Canelo weighs 174 in the ring. Angulo is 170

    (2015)

Canelo was obviously at least 170 for Kirkland and Cotto, and that's at the very least.

    (2012)

    Golovkin 168 - Proksa 166

    (2013)

    Golovkin 170 - Macklin 170

Golovkin 167 - Rosado ? Not sure how much Rosado weighed but he was 175 for Quillin

    (2014)

    Golovkin 173 - Rubio 181

    (2015)

    Golovkin 170 - Monroe 172

    Golovkin 170 - Lemieux 175

    (2016)

    Golovkin 171 - Wade 175

''He’s begging (Miguel) Cotto and he’s begging Canelo (Alvarez) – smaller guys – to fight, and they’re saying there’s no money in it, and they are smaller guys.”

    ---Andre Ward

Ward's criticizing Golovkin for wanting to fight guys who are the reigning lineal WBC champions in his own division and who are either the same size as him or even bigger, or who are much closer to Golovkin in terms of size than Golovkin is to him.

Ward was weighing at least 10lbs more than Golovkin on fight night then. But that ''smaller guy'' Canelo, who once again is the lineal WBC champion in Golovkin's division, weighs the same if not more than Golovkin on fight night and even walks around heavier than him too. Canelo started camp for Floyd at 176 and he clearly walks around at 180 if not more.

Even Freddie Roach said the then reighing WBC lineal champion Cotto would come it at 166 for Geale or Canelo (can't remember which of them it was right now), that's just 4lbs less than Golovkin's average ring weight. The difference in weight between Ward and Golovkin was a minimum of 10lbs, minimum :patsch
