Inspired by this conjectural thread: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=565081 Both would have been hitting the very thick of their primes at roughly the same period of time. How does it go down? I really think we got deprived of seeing a classic. Cheers, Joe, you big jerk. :-(
Ha. Calzaghe should have given Bute that work too. This would have been a fun battle IMO. I can well see it swinging back and forth but would favor Jeff due to Lucien's shaky beard. Lacy showed a lot of heart in the Calzaghe fight to keep going in a fight that one sided, people forget that. He'd keep going until he clocked Bute and it'd be all over once he did.
Young Bute was a force. He was not a real knock out artist, but he had volume punches galore. Lacy would be in the same boat because his stamina gives out after the 6th round if he doesn't knock out Bute. Lucien wins by UD .
For some reason I visual this match as similar to the Bute-Miranda match, Lacy would be KO'd a little later, Bute may not be the hardest puncher but I'm pretty sure he packs more of a punch than Calzaghe who had Lacy ready to go in the last few rounds.
Bute had hard voluminous punches in his prime and more technique and strategy. I got Bute KO11-12 or UD.
