I can understand him saying Khan deserves a shot but not Kirkland. James hadn't done much up to that point. He's been a very inactive fighter (legal troubles) for the past couple years.

What has Khan done to earn a shot at the MW title? Khan doesn't even have a belt at WW and his best names on his resume were at JrWW. And to top it off he is jumping two divisions to fight Canelo at CANELOWEIGHT. Yep, I guess that is more deserving than having the Middleweight WBA, IBF titles and being the next in line for th WBC MW belt.

Khan has built a good brand thats what he has done. Its unbelievable how little business sense many boxing fans have.

Pro Boxing is a business first. Canelo has built a great brand by fighting everyone unlike other certain n fighters.

This fight is clearly pure business and as he gets more popular who else do youb think will benefit from this? Yes, Canelo's future opponents.

GGG has accepted step aside money twice! Does he truly care about the title as much as his fans? Seems like he's making smart business decisions doesn't it?

GGG is trying to make money off the legacy of others so he has to be dictated too since he's just waiting around instead of making his name a household name.

Oh, so now you want to talk about business sense and what Canelo's best interests are?

Yet when I tell you it was in GG's best interests to let Cotto and Canelo fight whilst he fought Lemieux for the IBF belt, you laughed it off and ridiculed him for it.

    Biased much?

That is one of the most ridiculous statements in boxing history. Canelo should just keep his mouth shut and collect his paychecks

If he accepts the 155 catchweight, do you think he would get the fight? I think there would be more obstacles.

Golovkin will never be a really big name even if he beats Canelo, he's from Khazakstan. He (his team) want's a good negotiating position, though, as stated in the past. They don't want to give advantages to opponents unless they think it doesn't cost anything.

edit: I don't think Golovkin would be comfortable at 155 today, or his team think's it is not certain that he can. Sanchez stated years ago that they were working on putting more weight on Golovkin to better fit the MW division.

Of course there would be more hurdles. 155 is just the first one.

If GGG were to accept 155, then it would be a ridiculous 90/10 split that Oscar has already stated.

    Then who knows after that.

The fight is never going to happen. Canelo and Oscar will do everything to wiggle out of this fight.
