He was stay on his feet durable, but was hardly regain the momentum durable. He was a good punching bag when he was getting a beating. Wow. I'm sure all the fighters that were decked and shaken but came back to win were so jealous of that attribute.

 

And the same guy moaning Tyson's underrated durability wise tells us one well landed left hook on Ali from Tyson and it's lights out

 

Yep -- It is very unlikely that anyone ever hit harder than Foreman, and according to Big George, after taking absolutely everything he could throw Ali whispered in George's ear -- "Is that all you got George?" Ali would have Tyson's ass in a sling long before they ever got in the ring. Ali was a master at psyching his opponents out both before and during a fight. Tyson was an emotionally defective mental midget. Not a winning scenario for Iron Mike. The fight itself would look a bit like Ali/Quarry: A very good fighter made to look foolish by a great fighter.

 

You do realize that this is the man who at the age of 42 gave a better version of Holyfield a tougher fight than 30-year old Tyson did?

 

It might be worth mentioning that if it's one fighter I can see KO'ing Ali, it's Tyson. I don't think he necissarily would, but you can never rule that out. I would give Tyson very little chance of taking home a decision, though, especially if it's a 15 rounder. But Tyson, and maybe Louis, are the only ones I would give even a slight chance of knocking out a prime Ali. It is just a slight chance, though, and the best chance I'd give Tyson to win, so Ali is my definite favourite.

I don't think Tyson style-wise would be very difficult for Ali. He was best against static fighters that he could take aim at before unleashing his deadly punches and combos. I don't see him following Ali step for step like Frazier did more or less and eating lots and lots of jabs and straight rights before getting close enough to unleash himself. Tyson would most likely try to unleash most of his punches from mid-range or even a bit further out and, like Liston proved, that was a good recipe for missing Ali when he was in his prime.

But as I said, there's always the off chance of Tyson finding Ali with the left hook an then finishing him off. Don't think it would be very likely, but if it's to happen against anybody it is against Tyson.

foremans style was completly different to tysons' foremans style was a good up right type of fighter with great punching power and heavy hands' fighter like that can box on until there late 30's. tysons style was all about speed agility and explosive counter punching, and those skills was no where near to the standard of a peak tyson when he faced holyfield, plus if the fight would of been stopped because of the cut caused by a holyfield headbut like it should of done tyson would of won on points, which is a credit to his heart for continuing to fight on.

fighting styles like mikes are very hard to maintain during the later years of a pro-boxer.
plus holyfields game plan was completly different to the game plan he had to beat tyson with.

i think Ali vs Tyson H2H P4P using the 15 round rules intact at that time period, i think Ali just wins on points, possible a split decision depending on whether the judges are scoring for Tysons aggression and not scoring Ali's backing off/ running away/ defensive style. plus with tysons punching power hes more than capable of getting at least one 10-8 round as hes a much better fighter than anyone whos dropped Ali and has a better chin then anyone who Ali's ever dropped.

 

Tell me up to what period of the fight Tyson was ahead to?

 

In a nutshell, if Ali uses the same tactics he did against Big George, he should handle Iron Mike. Getting into Tyson's head would play a BIG part of it.
