Lemieux vs. Tapia - complete mess.

It was a fine stoppage. This is a sport you sadists. In fact even that early in fights there should be more mercy stoppages by refs. Lemieux's aggression and power had simply taken over by then and it was no contest. And Tapia was stunned more than you think. He fell back when he first got up and had to hold onto the ropes to balance himself. He wanted to keep fighting of course, but if the guy's not a puncher and not in the fight on the scorecards there's no reason a referee should even consider allowing a fighter to continue in condition like that after being knocked down.

 

Yep, Freddie jumped the gun, possibly because he's worried that what happened to him might happen to his fighters if he leaves them in there accumulating damage with no hope of winning.
