Against GGG he would not need to cut off the ring. Both fighters would be there for each other. One of Canelo's chances is that, as good as GGG is, he's not to complicated to figure out stylistic wise , but it will be hard to out tough him.
No, Alvarez can't beat Golovkin...................Kellerman said that Golovkin would be the favorite against El Pollo or anyone 168 or south. Golovkin is not a small 147 lb. fighter with a glass chin. Golovkin has fantastic, timing, balance, cut off the ring, great chin, rolls with the punches and a great defense whenever he feels he needs it, but he can count on his chin. His power is much greater than El Pollo', defense, etc., don't forget, Alvarez does not have very good stamina..............
This has nothing to do with mathematics or with a sport. You get points for honesty but if Canelo wants to fight at 155 he needs to drop the 160 belt.
Canelo can't beat GGG right now. In 2 years When GGG is past his prime, maybe. The play should be to wait.
He has a chance at a catchweight. 160 GGG would hurt Canelo. To be honest, GGG is a different animal to anybody Canelo has fought in his career. GGG is a banger and a superb boxer. Canelo chances are slim.
The only way Canelo wins is if the judges cheat, as what was happening with Khan. Man. I would be furious. Good thing Golovkin hits so hard that it going to a decision is pretty unlikely.
This. I believe that they will wait. Vacate the belt, far t around for 4 years and hope for GGG to get old. Last I heard there was some 90-10 offer on the table. GTFO here :-( Right now Golovkin will pepper Canelo with the jab and bust him up with counters. You can count on some of his sickening body punches getting snuck in every round. His timing and speed are just too great. He will follow the same fight plan he followed against Lemieux: fight conservatively and wear Saul down. I think Sanchez' prediction of a round 8 KO is about right.
Interesting odds on the fight. The bookies had given Khan more of a chance of beating Canelo then Canelo beating GGG
Canelo gets stopped and Canelo knows he gets stopped, so does Oscar, so does Hopkins and so do most people. I love the way some people look at Golovkin, they see KO's and believe all he is about is power and nothing else. Go and have a watch of him as an amateur, go and watch a professional fight and watch his feet, his timing, the way he controls distance, his jab and then come back and tell me he isn't a great fighter/boxer. Nobody is unbeatable, I'm not saying he is some sort of machine, I'm not suggesting he will be unbeaten throughout his career. I'm just saying have a look at what he actually does and I'm sure the better the opponents you put in front of him the more you'll see of his genuine talent.
GGG has Never fought a top tier or elite boxer that comes even close to having the speed, power and chin of canelo. Anybody that says otherwise is delusional.
