He is one freaky dude and gives real chills in person. No idea what it is but i think he has to wear those prescription glasses in and out.

Heard that before and it's the only thing that makes sense

On his off days, he spends his time making toy cars and playing Super Mario Bros (the first one).

He's a weird soulless creep who looks like Klaus Kinski in Nosferatu and he loves to whine and play the victim card all the time. He's also very disingenuous, paranoid and a big hypocrite.

Despite the fact that his boy Dre always already has every advantage and the deck stacked heavily in his favour - hometown, home state or home country advantage, Californian/American referees everytime he steps foot in a ring (the ref has been from the US for all of Ward's fights, and from California 20 times IIRC and it would've been even more had Team Abraham not threatened to pull out of the fight unless they appointed a non Californian ref), Hunter still feels the need to constantly play his mind games to try and gain even more advantage for his boy.

He'll do this during both the lead up to a fight and minutes before the fighters are due out in the ring when he visits the opponents dressing room to spread his ''voodoo''.

Carl Froch's brother confronted him about it in one of the episodes Fight Camp 360 and when Kessler complained about Ward's team and Hunter using dirty tactics to try and unsettle him, Hunter accused him of being a liar. Problem is one of the things (can't remember what it was now) Kessler accused Hunter of doing (which Hunter denied) had been caught on camera. Kessler is and always has been a stand up guy and real gentleman.

Hunter played his mind games with Abraham, Froch and Dawson too. He also visited Lucas Matthysse's dressing room before his fight with his boy Mike Dallas Jr. He kicked up a big stink accusing Lucas of taking PEDs after seeing him take a pill shortly before he was due out. Yeah, of course they're going to take PEDs in full view of their opponent's trainer when he visits their dressing room and it's not like they weren't going to have to do the post-fight drug test shortly after the fight either. It was all mind games by Hunter. The look on his ugly mug when Lucas iced his boy out cold in a round was priceless. I loved that

Listen to what Hunter says to Chad Dawson in this pre-fight press conference when Dawson's promoter Gary Shaw spills the beans about it being Team Ward insisting the fight was at 168 after they tried to negotiate a catchweight. Dawson was already coming to Ward's hometown and dropping down to a weight he hadn't fought at in 6.5 years and they also had 2 Californian judges in tow too. But even all that advantage for his boy isn't enough for Hunter.

''Speak for yourself Chad, this goes deeper then that, deeper then that'

''You ain't no Mandingo Slave Chad, You ain't no Mandingo Slave Chad''

''You ain't on no plantation no more Chad, quit letting that man speak for you, speak for yourself''

    Classy guy.

“But again, as I have stated many times in the past, there is no such thing as home field advantage in boxing unless you are somewhere out in Europe. In the past, we have seen some home-cooking in Germany, Wales, Denmark, London; I am sure there have been some funny things that have happened in the Olympics as well as other parts of England. Just look at what happened in the fight between Andre Dirrell and Carl Froch. But elsewhere there is no such thing. In Oakland, the crowd may be behind Andre but they can’t fight for him. Andre has no allegiances to the judges either. It’s just going to be Andre and Chad the night of September 8. It’s an even playing field; no one has an advantage.” :patsch

Most boxing trainers in general are weird people I've found. I don't mind Hunter though.

He seems a little crazy to me. He also strikes me as one of those guys who incorrectly thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.
