That's his excuse for not fighting Kell.

What legacy is he referring to? Being one of the chinniest fighters we will ever remember?

He seems to still believe he's elite.

Pretty sure that you leave a great legacy by winning these fights.

Anyway it's all talk.. Before he fights another big name he will fight a couple of non punchers.

Realistically khan won't be fighting a big name for at least 12 months.

Unless in khan's world, berto and Robert Guerrero are big names

Both Rhodes and Hatton lasted longer against Canelo.

thats fine. if he dont want to fight brook i'd have no issue with that. my curiosity would like to see it...but if he doesnt want it thats ok...hes entitled without a belt to defend to go whichever path he pleases.
my issue is still with the wbc though...and why the sanctioned a fight letting him face canelo when he plainly did not deserve the shot...and i am not just saying that now. i'd be saying it if he won..what did he do to deserve a shot at the wbc middleweight title ?

It's starting to look that way, say Khan to anybody and this Canelo KO will be most people's first thought now.

Has Khan ever been number 1 in a division?

He got sparked at 135 by Prescott' moved up. Wasn't number 1.

Bradley was regarded as number 1 at 140 for a long time, then Garcia sparked Khan, so he wasn't number 1 there.

And has done nothing at 147 to say he is anywhere near number 1.

In reality Khan has never been the best man in his division yet still seems to think he can rule the boxing world, he really is delusional.

khan is one more bad ko from being seen as a high level journeyman, he should fight brook

He should fight Jesus Abel Hernandez.

Big name - 9 letters in his surname alone.

Garcia will fight and beat Berto, then Khan will fight him after a tune up of some kind I suspect. He'll either manage to out point Garcia this time and have another world title to add to his resume or he'll get sparked again, then be forced to spend his life at fringe contender level until retirement.

He's doing what most boxers don't do, fighting the best, moving up in weight again fighting the best, then he decides to jump even further up in weight against a known big puncher also known to cut a lot of weight and be heavy come fight night.

Name another fighter that is prepared to take on the same challenges Khan has, even after defeats he picks himself up and goes for the best in the division.

He may not be elite but he isn't far away and has far bigger ***** than most others and is far more entertaining to watch for those reasons.

The legacy is to fight the best guys consistently, whether that is a win loss or a draw that's what he's doing.

Id rather be in Khans shoes than most other British boxers, he's fought in places and against fighters that most never do, so he is not only earning loads of money he is more than likely learning more from fighting these guys or at least the experience is worth much more.

Let's be clear here. Khan was in a position where any step-up from the dross he was fighting at 147 meant he was likely to get KTFO and his career was in ruins.

Taking a big pay day and becoming a sacrificial lamb for Canelo doesn't deserve credit. It was a calculated risk knowing he could never be criticised had he lost, which of course he did.

He has no interest in fighting the best, he wants the pay days. That's fine, but don't pretend you want a legacy.

Khan seems to be confused in the sense just fighting big names doesn't leave a legacy.

Beating the best leaves a legacy!!!

At 147lbs Khan fought Diaz, Collazo, Alexander and Algeri. What legacy was he trying to achieve with this level of opponent?

When you think about it logically why would Khan not want to fight Brook? There is a world title on offer in his homeland without the need of going over to the states. He would be guaranteed a majority stake in a fight that he would earn an absolute fortune in, against an opponent that would be world champion and he would probably be underdog in.

It would fill a stadium and put British Boxing on everyone's interest all over the world that weekend. It would also make boxing huge in the UK, the build up would give a buzz to the sport over here and big domestic shows downs are just what everybody loves.

But the fact he was willing to go two divisions higher to face a bigger man like Alvarez just tells you how scared he is. He isn't scared of taking a punch or getting knocked out, of course he isn't but he is scared of his reputation being ruined by the opponent that he's always claimed isn't on his level. Alvarez was win win. Upset the odds legendary win going up the weights, get banged out get a load of credit for being *****y and going up the weights while getting 6 million in the process.

I genuinely believe Hearn and Brook could offer him 95% and he'd look for another reason to wriggle out of it.

Dross being who? so he steps up (big step) calculated risk or not its a 'risk' that others wont take.

He's been fighting the best guys for years, like I said he's not winning all of them so like some other guy said, the legacy is actually beating them. but at least he has it in him to fight them.
