"The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) added meldonium to its banned substance list on January 1, 2016. In mid-April, WADA modified its rules to allow for below 1 microgram per milliliter of meldonium in samples submitted after March 1, and between 1 and 15 micrograms per milliliter in samples submitted before that date." 1 microgram > 70 nanograms There you have it.
This controversy may actually cause Potvetkin to lose focus on the MOST winnable, BIGGEST fight of his pro career. Winning here, almost assure his next payday vs Fury Wlad winner and a 50/50 split of a possible $30 mil purse. Wilder's chances have improved dramatically IMO, knowing now for certain that Potvetkin's improved physical stature since his L to Wlad had at least mentally been aided by the use of this supplement. I gotta say, knowing he's entering the ring without it, vs the biggest puncher he's ever fought, and probably losing sleep over the possibility of Wilder's withdrawal, has got to affect him mentally leading up to this fight.
I'll have to agree. While many will claim he's a professional it doesn't matter etc, he's still human and this puts extra pressure on him. Just like extra pressure was put on Wlad when he had to fight fury without the bouncy castle and rewrap his gloves, that sort of things puts doubt in your mind and I think it was reflected by Wlad's performance.
Just because he took a legal over the counter drug doesn't mean he was taking anything else. Floyd on the other hand who claims he never has to cut weight took a massive 750 ml IV, which can be used to mask drugs when he could have just been drinking water.
You are speaking about pro boxing. The sport with loughable short bans for doping. The sport where only very very few athletes are tested during training. The sport where you may fight under licence of another country, when you a banned by the other. The sport with 4 world title sanctioning bodies ... if one bans you, fight for the other titles. The sport with different lists of what is banned and what not (see Soliman ... NC by BDB, but no ban by IBF) Be real, the majority of fighters in world title bouts are on PEDs in training in order to gain more strength, better regeneration etc. They discontinue taking the PEDs just in time to be sure they will not be caught at the tests right before and after their fights. Povetkin probably uses other PEDs during training ... like many other fighters. Could be he changed his "medication" after he left Sauerland Event where he had to face unannounced doping tests during training due to the television contract of Sauerland with the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
Im talking to Team Wilder as we speak. Telling them to strongly leave Moscow now. Do not let cheats prosper
