So team Wilder wants to get paid for doing absolutely nothing? Sounds fair. :nut

That's pretty much the story of Wilder's career though huh. Get paid for doing next to nothing, fighting a bunch of bums and getting 6 figures.

Um, the cost of ALL THE EXPENSES IN THE STATES/UK.

That should ALL BE PAID FOR and then some for Povetkin breaching the contract. :yep

The only person green in all of this is Wilder. His resume is littered with nothing but third-tier guys. He effectively ducked out of the fight and will try to do so until Russian lawyers force him to do otherwise.

Wilder didn't have to go home, period. His team took the first opportunity to tuck tail and run.

Oh yes, he should have flown to Russia and paid more then fly the **** back to the US afterwards.

WBC already cancelled the fight so he flew back. Nothing wrong with it.

    Makes sense.

He could've told the WBC he wanted to fight Povetkin anyway. Why didn't he?

Because he was against a cheater? Why have drug tests when you don't follow the protocols?

Why didn't Lebedev tell the sanctioning body he wanted to fight Jones the 2nd time?

Really? That's his reasoning? Because he "cheated?" What next, Povetkin called him "names?" Povetkin told him he couldn't play in his sandbox? It was an immaterial amount of the substance, well below the minimum threshold. Wilder not that brave? Either way, he's gonna have some answering to do if this goes to court.

The WBC/VADA certainly thought there was substantial evidence, evidence that was so damning they had to cancel the bout.

The only people that have answering to do is Povetkin/Ryabrinskyy.

The fact is - The sport is already dangerous enough and there's no reason for any fighter to have to fight against a PED cheat. Wilder had every right to not fight. Even if Wilder had BEGGED to fight, the WBC would not even have sanctioned it. Nobody would sanction it.

    Would be a complete farce.

IF Povetkin is found guilty and IF it's in the contract, they'll get a payment for their expenses, otherwise they won't. This is not a complicated matter.

That was to be expected, he looks like a thief. I wouldn't want to be him when a cop pulls him over, with that face he could get electrocuted or worse any time
