Judging by Twitter and Whyte's latest IFL interview.

Whyte smashes Allen to pieces, a total bum boxer. Would like this fight to take place on the Joshua-Brezeale undercard tbh.

Haven't been remotely impressed by Allen at all really. Whyte's best win is getting KO'd by AJ as well it seems. That said, I think it'll be entertaining whilst it lasts

I thought they might have chosen Allan for Briggs at one point.
Good comeback for Whyte then he needs someone with some name recognition if he wants to keep some buzz around him

Disappointing from Whyte says he is World class but then says he needs a couple of fights before going in with David Allen

wtf really ?? u need tune up fights for a British fighter even though u say your world class.

I think he's being cautious following his shoulder surgery. You're right though Dave Allen should be that type of comeback opponent.

Dave Allen is English title level at best. No excuse for not fighting him.

Whyte has been out following shoulder surgery for 7 months and is not even confirmed on a bill that is only 5 weeks away. Can't believe he's getting stick for not fighting Dave Allen seemingly for the British Title in his first fight back without any real notice and no camp. Some people must think this boxing lark is easy.
Also hasn't Allen claimed that he has sparred over 500 rounds with AJ and not been hurt at all? If true, that says a bit about both him and AJ. He looks mediocre to me but I haven't seen enough of him. He talks a good game on twitter though.

Your not making much sense u have Whyte who says he wants Chisora, Haye, Fury and AJ he even says he took the AJ fight with an injury and also goes on how street he is and will fight to the death ganster style on the streets.

But then a British level fighter says he will fight him he needs a couple of warm up fights his words not mine.

Exactly what warm up fights what is Dave Allen is he world class no fringe world class no European no he is British. If Whyte wants to get world class he needs to take on Allen after 1 fight at least.

I will be gutted if he doesnt fight Allen by August.

I think you might be the only person in Britain not related to Allen that will care if this fight doesn't happen.

Happy belated St. Totteringham's Day btw! Sorry couldn't resist...

All I'm saying is that it is unreasonable to expect any fighter to come back from shoulder surgery straight into a 12 round Championship fight. Nothing controversial in that.
I would however agree he was talking the mick if he insisted on fighting three cab drivers and delayed the fight until December.
