This is not an attack thread. Genuinely curious what people in the UK think.

He's a ranked contender, albeit a young one. He's logged enough pro rounds to know how to handle himself.

I saw something that Peter Fury, IIRC, said about his acne stopping hi fighting contenders while at the same time he's going to continue fighting.

If Deontay Wilder were to offer a late-summer title fight, presuming Povetkin is suspended either for short or long term (he could be banned or the WBC could say he has to test clean for a period of time before getting a shot, for instance), should Hughie take it? Or should be fight a Dyllian White or someone of that level? Or should he wait until 2017 or 18?

I want to know what you think.

Hughie has tougher battles outside of the ring at the moment.

Until he gets his health issues cleared up, I think it's fine for him to tick along fighting durable opponents and get some rounds under his belt.

He is still very young. Absolutely no rush with his career.

    This guy is passing medicals
The doctor declares him fit to fight
The hospital treating have nothing to say regarding his profession
Seriously he is either fit to fight are he ain't
I'm fit to fight but only if I'm expected to win
They either have him fighting with serious health implications or they ain't to confidant in what thier seeing

Being fit to fight doesn't mean he is the condition physically to take on tougher opponents.

He was fit to fight Kassi and beat him in 1st gear, but looked completely lethargic doing so. He wouldn't get away with that v tougher opponents.

Kassi's as good as Breazeale, so Hughie's about on a par with Joshua on the "when's he stepping up?" issue.
I don't know why he's not fighting Whyte though. Perhaps due to promoters ?

If he's not fit to fight surely he's not fit to fight? Boxing isn't really the sport to be doing if something isn't right. He needs to take a break if he has health issues and either resolve them or retire. You would think with most health problems rest is paramount

Hughie currently suffers from a severe skin condition which adversely affects his performance in the ring. That's why his team turned down the Whyte fight. I've got no problem with him taking a break while his health problems are addressed. He's only 21!

Having to constantly fight off infection takes its toll on the immune system and causes fatigue. Hughie was apparently struggling with it ahead of the Kassi fight. That's why he looked so languid.

He's young and has bags of potential, but they need to address his health issues.

Only 21 years old and he's been matched well with fights that will only stand him in good stead as he goes through the levels.

What long term infection does he have? I thought he just had bad acne?
