Stop being so biased. You talk about seeing each man perform at 100% yet we have not seen Canelo at the full 160 limit. He became a NW titilist by beating Cotto at 155, Cotto had defended that belt at a CW prior against Geale.

The truth is GGG said he would fight anyone between 154-168, but refuses to fight Canelo (who doesn't have MW obligations anymore) at 155 and refused to fight Ward at 168, but was willing to fight little WW Floyd at 154 and Chavez Jr. and Zurdo at 168...

Yeah, GGG needs to get off his high horse before he misses another opportunity at greatness.

Golovkin is the champ now. The champ defends at 160 pounds.

Canelo's best would be 155, no ? That's the weight he's contractually had opponents weigh in at.
Anywhere from 154 to 160, you can weigh in anywhere you feel best, why does your opponent have to weigh in at the exact poundage you want ?

Biased? We are talking about 2 guys in the same weight class who hold titles in the same weight class.

Canelo NOT fighting at the limit of the class is on him. He JUST had a chance to fight almost literally any MW he wanted to test his body at 160 bit instead he chose to drag up a WW.

Making 155 could weaken GGG. not having to drain down to 155 won't weaken Canelo. Maybe hebwont even have to wear the KT tape to help prevent cramps in his legs.

The MW range assures both fighters come in at their best. Want to be sure the weight is fair? Then slap on a rehyration clause.

And I have stated before..I really don't care or put much stock into what a fighter says. And we aren't talking about GGG/Ward/Froch/Chavez, etc...this is about GGG vs Canelo at a made up weight that is intended to weaken a fighter.

If you want to talk about what a fighter has said, we can make a whole list:

    Ward
    I'll fight Floyd at 160.
    I'll fight for HW championship

    Floyd
    I'm retired(twice)
I'll fight whoever wins my fan poll

    Lewis
    I'll give him a rematch

    Canelo
    I'll fight the best
Fights Khan his first defense.. Who at best is a top 10 WW

I'm sure there are hundreds more examples..

Alvarez is not an elite fighter, and the belt was the only reason he deserved a shot at GGG.

If GGG won a 168lb belt and insisted on Ward fighting him at 161, you might have a point. You don't hold a belt in a man's division and insist he meets you at your little fairy catchweight.

Hey..here's an idea since we put so much stock into what fighters say. .

Make the fight at 160, 90/10 split to the winner.

Canelo did say in his press release that he will fight, and he will beat GGG..so a 90/10 to the winner should be agreeable.

Obviously I'm being a little facetious. Just making the point that not a lot of stock can be placed in what a fighter says.

I freely admit that Canelo should get the higher % of the fight.

Now that the belt isn't being held hostage, I imagine GGG will fight the man at 155.

For the last time, THERE IS NO 155, it is a fabrication by Alvarez, Caneloweight DOES NOT EXIST. Do you Canelo supporters actually think 155 is a valid fighting weight? Is Alvarez's body SO SPECIAL and SO UNIQUE that out of the thousands of professional active boxers, he needs his very own custom weight class? Are you angry at boxrec for not ranking the top guys at 155? Holy sh*t, ENOUGH ALREADY.

    147 - welterweight
    154 - junior middleweight
    155 - caneloweight
    160 - middleweight

Once Golovkin has all of these pussies belts he's going to start demanding their shoes too.
