Is that why the Ref had to save Baldy from the beating he was taking by Clottey???

I guess thats how Baldy earned his linear shot, with the grace of the Ref. :rofl

I bet youve never even seen that bout. Youre pathetic and compltely biased assessment of that bout basically tells the tale.

the vast majority of accounts are that Baldy was saved by the ref.

simple bottom line is that Baldy was not even a top 10 WW by any reasonable rankings and should not have gotten the shot tha the linear title.

Margo at this point in his career doesn't get up for the Lujan's of the world. Margo will be a lot better prepared for Cotto. This clip doesn't change my perception at all. I think cotto is a good fighter, i just feel margo is all wrong for him.

he's been listed at 5'8" on some cards and 5'7" on others. Either way, he's got a significant height disadvantage with AM.

Emanuel Steward and lampley say he is a short 5'7. it may be his fighting stance.

I was thinking so too. But honestly...from looking at the presser pics today, it doesn't seem that significant.

cotto will be moving and fighting off the back foot in some moments to set the fight at a pace he wants.

cotto can hit harder than margarito. thats a fact, he has ko'd a higher quality of opposition. margarito likes to fight on the inside, even though, in this fight, he'd be better suited boxing and using his height. however he fights with the heart of a mexican warrior and will not use his height

cotto will mix it up on the inside, and for ppl who think that margo will foul cotto, any1 who saw the cotto-judah fight knows that cotto knows how to throw a foul or two

I believe so.. I see him fighting off his back foot with accurate jabs and counter-punches, mixing it on the inside some, workin' on that body of Margo's..

Cotto has to do everything in this fight. Use his feet, fight off the back foot, move unconventionally to his right (this is key, I think), step in and flurry on occasion. Counterpunching will be his ally.

What he can't do his set his feet for extended periods and allow Margarito to lock in his sites. If it comes down to trading over the course of several rounds, Cotto will lose. He must change the landscape of the fight and use his ability to be diverse -- which Margarito can't do -- to win out.

Agreed. Everyone is talking about these guys going toe to toe. That would be fun but it would not be wise for Cotto. AM is an animal with a rock where his head should be. If Cotto wants to guarantee a win, he'll try to box for 12 rounds.

    Let's see.

    WRONG!

If anything, the exact opposite. But that won't happen. This will be a war of attrition, which Cotto will not endure for 12 rounds.

I did not see your post, yet both of ours ended in "for 12 rounds" & were back to back.

    Some coincidence.:think
