I know nuance isn't really a thing around here but I'll give it a go...
Frampton & Quigg market themselves as world level fighters. It would do them no good to lose to Rigo and they would get paid less than they could generate from alternative fights (although that last part might not still be true after the stinker they gave us).

McDonnell, on the other hand, does not have such a lofty image and is stepping up so losing to Rigo would not have the same detrimental impact. It could actually do him good if he puts on a decent show. It's only if he gets totally spanked for twelve rounds that his stock would suffer, so it's less of a risk for him than it would be for the other two. Plus he's getting a decent wedge, apparently.

So you're saying McDonnel does not have the potential to have future clashes with Quigg/Frampton/Selby and other top UK guys in the future? He's certainly big enough to move up to feather.

McDonnell has gotten a lot of hype since getting decisions of kameda, though a lot thought it was controversial. His stock is actually at the highest it's been, losing all 12 and getting humiliated by rigo would be extremely detrimental for his career.

It ruins his shots at building fihgts with the other top Uk guys.

And yes I get what you're saying, I've never thought otherwise. Frampton/Quigg losing to Rigo would have been more detrimental for their career than Mcdonnell since they were higher profile guys. But to act like McDonnell is just doing this for moeny, and not because he has ***** is ludicrous. He could easily build up a fight with Quigg, since he's still at 122, or possible fights with other big guys. McDonnell deserves massive credit while the other 2 typical UK ducks should be shamed. One dropped 2 fking belts FFS.

Also the risk might be awful against Rigo since he might school you all 12 rounds, but if Frampton or Quigged pulled it off? They'd be legends in the sport. They'd be on every p4p list.

Not at all. Merely that you can't bank on potential that you haven't realised yet.

Neither frampton or quigg wanted to fight rigo and risk a loss while they had the potential fight with each other. As for framptons reasons for ducking his mandatory in rigo after the quigg fight I'm not quite sure, most likely a mixture of financial reasons and knowing he would lose. Macdonnel obviously doesn't share the same attitude and has said on many occasions he is in boxing solely for the money so therefore he knows he will lose to rigo and obviously the benefit of the payday outweighs the risk of a loss. If he moves up to fight rigo and loses tell me 1 fight that couldn't be made after that loss that can be made now? There isn't one. Eddie would have him straight back in for a world title at bantam should he lose to rigo

Losing to Rigo would NOT be detrimental to McDonnells career.

McDonnell has shown himself as a good fighter and grown as a champ
