what made me laugh was haye was spouting off like he was jesus walking on water after just tapping a below domestic level sparring partner. All with a straight face.

is it me or does he look permanatley stoned as ****, can barely open his eyes in interviews

    His face would stand clogging.

You are right and it really grinds my gears when he's talking utter ****e and nobody pulls him on it. Only once after the Klitschko v Wach fight when both Haye and that horrible little **** Maloney was talking **** did I ever see somebody talk the truth to him and Haye was gobsmacked as though no one should call him on the **** he spouts.

    Paul Dempsey I salute you.

What's destroying British boxing is the people who pay for this ****. It would be no problem if haye wanted to test the waters against a few no hopers first if he was a few fights down on someone's undercard. But this headline thing is a joke. I'm a big haye fan but After the Shannon Briggs fight he better only be fightin big fights.

They really didn't. More than half the arena were there because of giveaways or the £2.50 tickets released the week of the fight. And there were many blocks curtained off where the DJs were playing.

Never been a fan of Haye. A talented fighter, but not a real fighter. A con man really. Would love to have seen him in against an Evander Holyfield, 4 rounds max until he got exposed.

No, a fix is when all involved parties collude to make sure there is a certain result. Going down from a jab may well have been through the choice of Gjergjaj (He almost certainly was looking for a way out), but it wasn't the result of a pre-planned arrangement with Haye. I don't think you understand what the word 'fix' means in its correct context.

Yes I do and I am positive it was a fix.
If he was looking for a way out after one minute his purse should be withheld and donated to a charity
To be honest I would not be surprised if someone from the haye camp offered him more to take that dive extra few quid to make haye look good
Anyone who takes a dive and he did is and must be involved in a fixed fight
It was wwe stuff not real and professional boxing

Or just desperate for a way out. If it was a fix, why make it look so obvious? I think the bloke just bottled it when he realised he was in far too deep and certain to get put to sleep.

The gulf between the top flight and the fringe is massive at heavy, you jump from the likes of De Mori and Gjergjaj to Chisora and Stiverne, straight into the elite.

It's not about learning, it's about gaining rank and shaking off rust under the lights right now.

Outside of the perrenial title challenger level, it's likely going to be the same result in any fight Haye takes.

Haye looked looser, less stiff this time out. Still slightly careless and clumsy compared to his leaner peak, but he's sharpening up from what little there was to see. I'm sure the real gains are probably being made behind closed doors.

If I were matchmaking Haye, I'd have steered clear of Briggs. He's too much of an unknown quantity. If he gets past him, the fight after that will likely be against someone who is a fight or two shy of a title.

Once Haye's at that point, the Joshua fight doesn't seem like a sideshow.

Until then, to label a comeback fight on a free to air channel as a fix just because it was one sided is as dumb as it is expected at this stage of Haye's career. There's no pleasing the perfect fan.

Never seen a chef sharpen a knife using cotton wool. Gjergjaj was embarrassing. The fight wasn't fixed in the ring. It was fixed at the point of the match up. Gjergjaj had no chance and they both knew that. He was always going to lose, he just didn't want to get hurt doing it. He wasn't going to get paid extra if it went more rounds so he didn't try. That is why it was disgraceful and clearly shows that despite his bravado Haye doesn't rate himself at this point.

If mugs buy tickets then too bad. Everybody here knew Gjarbage was a bum. Haye has always been about showbiz, not boxing.

Kassi would have been a good fight for Haye's comeback- tough but doesn't pose much of a threat.

At least he's fighting regularly now, even if it's for three minutes at a time.
