Will Parker vs. Pulev be the final eliminator for AJ?

    These two eliminators were semi finals, and the winners have to meet? Or will both winners get a shot at AJ one after another?

    Yep. Pulev gets to fight the winner of Parker versus whoever the IBF title holder is when the mandatory IBF defense happens

    I believe Pulev will need to be in a final eliminator before he gets a shot. He's the #2 at the moment and I don't imagine he's guaranteed a shot for like 1,5 year later. Pulev vs Ruiz Jr would be a decent final eliminator for later this year.

    Although Pulev might be offered a shot at Wilder if Povetkin's B sample comes out to be positive. He should be the highest ranked contender in the next WBC update.

    But Parker vs. Takham was also NOT a final eliminator. The NZ commentators mentioned it. Wasn't this supposed to be some 4 man tournament between Pulev/Chisora and Parker/Takham? With the winner becoming designated mandatory?

    It was a final eliminator. He's supposed to fight AJ in November unless AJ goes for a unification.

    - NZ commentars "This is an eliminator fight, but not a final eliminator".
    - An article: "New Zealand's Joseph Parker is preparing to battle Carlos Takam for the opportunity to become mandatory challenger for the IBF belt, while the winner of Chisora-Pulev will be next in line for a shot."     - Another article: "Parker is now the No. 1 rated IBF contender, with Kubrat Pulev recently beating Dereck Chisora to claim the No. 2 spot.     Has there been any definitive statement from the IBF? There seems to be lots of confusion in the media.

    No, it never was - there was a bunch of misinterpretation and a few people reported on the 4 man elimination thing but there is no actual credible sources who reported it. IBF ended up releasing a clarification on this case, and it's also backed up by both Hearn and Parker's team.

    Eddie Hearn said they have to fight Parker now. He wouldn't just say it before talking to IBF.

    Joshua is so lucky to have any belt. Pulev and Parker would have ko'd that Can Martin fraud easy also. I'd also wager Takam and Dereck would have no trouble with said Can.

    Joshua was given the belt. Martin does not know how to fight at all...............

    Parker is the IBF mandatory, but it taking another fight to work on things he did not do right in the Takam fight...................Joshua has never fought anyone as good as Takam, neither has Wilder. When Povetkin knocked out Takam it really made Wilder very afraid...............now he will give up the WBC title rather than fight Povetkin.............

    THE CONFUSION is all the IBF fault

    the IBF do not have any number 1 or 2 slots

    promoters have to pay the ibf to get there fighter a number 1 ranking
    you could face a whos who of heavies and the ibf would still not rank you higher than 3rd unless you paid them.

    parker v takam was for the number 1 ranking in the IBF

    pulev v chisora was for the number 2 ranking.

    i am guessing but dont know for sure / after parker v joshua fight if they remain unbeaten v breazale and houmono then pulev takes the number 1 slot.

    The IBF seems to have a history of bending the rules if money talks.

    If Takam had won then imo the final eliminator vrs Pulev would be happening.

    But if Parker faces Pulev he risks losing momentum going into the Joshua fight, which is going to be a big payday for both men. Team AJ would rather face Parker now and Pulev later. If Pulev has a legal case with the IBF then he'll get step aside money.
