Yes, a press conference led to questions from the Press. Well observed. You missed the main point of my post, but no big deal, you got the chance to vent. I'm glad. Feel better?

He's entitled to his opinion even if it is bitter.

Why were the family so against a press conference? Apologies if it's already been covered.

I don’t have a clue, it was probably just a case that they just couldn’t handle people speaking so formally over there son who had just been rushed to hospital… I don’t think it’s been fully explained.

I know if I had just beaten someone so badly in a boxing match that they had to be carried out in an ambulance – and then their family requested that I didn’t do a press conference – well… I wouldn’t do a press conference. I would be accommodating to the families wishes at such an awful time. But hey, that’s just me

CEJ did the press conference… as he was entitled to.

    It’s a morality issue.

Its a small request, coming from a distraught family...Do you honour the request or do you ignore the request ?

I think the blackwells must resent the good press that the Eubanks have from the event.

The family were probably traumatized all week and they had to watch Sr being painted as some kind of saint.

A common theory is that Eubank SR showed more compassion than Blackwells own corner. This is just a ridiculous thought. Gary Lockett got it wrong, and Eubank Sr made a comment at a chance moment. Nothing more.

I see and understand both sides of the argument, and I do believe Blackwell has come across as bitter. But deep down, I think it’s the culmination of ignoring the family's request to do press and then benefiting from the press… all while Blackwell laid in a coma.

The overarching problem is, the general public want to believe in fairy tales. They want to believe that Eubank Sr was giving advice that was compassionate.

Paraphrasing they thought it was disrespectful whilst Nick was in a coma. As did Hennessy and the board.

Cheers. Pretty much agree with all this.

It does seem a bit of a storm in a tea cup though. A bit of an over-reaction on Blackwell's part, when you think just how bad things could have been.

I've got to be honest, I was very disappointed with Blackwell's comments on the topic, and quite frankly thought they were disgusting to be honest, however the poster here has gone way too far with what he is saying.

Blackwell said they should have not done a press conference, which I totally disagree with, their family doesn't get o dictate to boxing and the normal things that happen, and in reality it doesn't affect them and nicks health at the time so why were they even bothered what the Eubanks were doing.

Secondly, I heard him say that they should have just come to visit him, but he made many attempts to contact Nick and seeing as Nick and his team hated the Eubanks so much its not like they could have just turned up. Also he said it was disrespectful of them to not show up but it was Blackwell who was the one that was disrespectful to them for ignoring them, he could have even got one of his team to get in touch with them, something Mick could have done in a second. I am personally very disappointed in Nick as he always come across as a very nice bloke, get the feeling all of this is down to having that ****hole Billy Joe Saunders in his ear telling him to say certain things.

I'm glad that he's ok but Blackwell has come across as a bit of a **** TBH. He's obviously gone for the money with the red rag and been paid abit extra to come out with the stuff he did (to a certain extent I don't blame him for getting the coin as he cant box anymore) but I think it's a low blow especially as Ithe Eubanks had conducted themselves well and with class.

I haven't seen the full interview but from what Ive seen he didn't even thank guys like Dsvid Haye & Etches and general boxing fans for raising money on his behalf - that to me is bang out of order
