The let's throw IIunga Makabu under the bus express for losing to Bellew

    I've made this thread ready for Sunday.

    Of course, Makabu is a boogeyman and has a decent record on paper, like Barroso did, and Charles Martin did, but not that much is known.

    But I've just watch the available footage of Makabu from youtube.

    Bellew has got this.

    Makabu uses upper body movement to put leverage on his shots, but leaves himself square on and is easy to tag. He does well when he's on top but doesn't react well to pressure. Bellew will be able to beat this midget with his jab alone.

    I will bump this Sunday so you can all jump abroad the express.

    I kinda agree, Bellew is being written off prematurely.
    Goodison Park is his mecca. This is the one for him, he will be super motivated.

    True, and how will Makabu react to that atmosphere. Charles Martin at the O2 against Joshua's confidence seemed to drain almost completely during his ring walk.

    I think that will be a real acid test of a fighters mental toughness. He basically only ever fought in low key events, wheres Bellew is no stranger to it.

    Part of me wants Bellew to win. The proud Brit in me likes to see my countrymen do well. The other part wants him to pull a Kevin Mitchell and get stopped in front of his home fans. The guy has 0 redeeming qualities and spews constant verbal diarrhea. I'll sit on the fence for now.

    I think Makabu is going to destroy him, so Bellew will get full credit from me if he wins. I'd rather give a dude credit for proving me wrong. No need to bash the guy who couldn't beat him just because I picked wrong and don't want to give the winner credit.

    Makubu is a tank.
    Hes hasn't fought masses of name fighters but someone broke down is record the other day and its not as terrible as it first looks.

    Bellew is really inaccurate for a wold level fighter and he cant afford to let his emotions get in the way. Makubu looks to have a decent chin and while he's slow he carries more power than Bellew and looks to the more solid thicker set guy. Bellew looks to have some height and possibly reach which could make things interesting. Bellew has to box his problem for me is he never seems that fit.

    I think he boxes he can s****e a close decision. If he brawls hes getting put to sleep.

    Did you just say Charles Martin has a descent record? Not in the slightest.

    Barroso was proven knocking over B-levels and Makabu has slow feet, sure, but one patented uppercut and Bellew's head lands right in Eddie Hearn's lap.

    Makabu could win this with the first punch landed. Adonis destroyed Bellew in 6, Makabu hits twice as hard as Adonis and relies on more than just the left hand like Stevenson does.
