The thread says Tua vs Marciano at cruiserweight. Marciano ruins Tua anyway we look at it. If it's the best, big version of Tua at 216lb and over Marciano still wins. The best version shrunk down would be a bit faster but still gets beat. Obviously Tua was the better amateur though. First fight for first fight Tua has an advantage of sorts.
prime tua weighed 226, not 216, and he carried his weight, punching power and stamina all the fight. and all this is based on your imagination? tua never had a problem with naturall smaller guys (punchers), the funny thing is that you find idiots on this forum mentioing chirs byrd like an argument in favor of marciano, a guy taller, longer southpaw, fast like hell is very similar to the slow 185 ponderous puncher. tua was bigger, faster, stronger took a better shot and hits harder, tell me how marciano would win this... with magic.... this forum is going to the hell
No he debuted as a pro in early 1947 the returned to the amateurs. He lost to Wallace at the 1948 NY Golden Gloves
99% of the time you would be correct in saying the bigger version of two of the same kind of guys wins. I wholeheartedly agree. But we are not talking about the same "kind of guys". Neither one if them was superman, I accept that. But let's be rational here, one of them was a good contender. The other was an all time great. You cannot sweep away proven form or dismiss a dominating fighter who proved to be something of an exception to the rule over a guy who, let's face it, made nowhere near this impact. Tua fell short. There is two things most different about these two. #1 artificial weight advantage. #2, different capability levels. The artificial weight is not compensating for a lack in class. Not when It's just making Tua a slower open target. Joe Bugner is not beating Lenox Lewis with a weight advantage. It's the same kind of thing.
It's just like Joe Louis vs John Tate It would be crazy to pick John Tate over Louie yet this is precisely what everyone is doing who would pick Tua over Marciano.
How? These ****ogies only make sense if you ignore their actual attributes and instead only focus solely on their W-L records.
:rofl are you ****ing kidding me? really? did you write this ****? i did think that you was one of the few decent poster on this place, artificial? tua was much bigger framed than marciano, much wider thorax, much thicker legs, thicker arms, bigger head... and your example of bugner is laughable and you know it, tua was " only a contender" in the 90s, if you take tua just like he was and you put him in a time machine in the era of rocky and he would have been a champion hands down killing every guy in the ring, and marciano would have been a cruiserweight in the 90s, maybe even a lhw. stylistically tua is a nightmare for marciano, i will not spend my time anymore.
He also left out: better handspeed, better balance, better power, and (in my opinion) better defensive skills.
not even similar, horrible horrible comparison, stylistically tua has advantage over rocky and also tua overcomes nearly every strength of rocky, strength tua, power tua, speed tua, size tua, chin tua
