Canelo is a ducker, end of story. Rarely seen a case of more blatant ducking. :smoke

    Okay- I agree.

Canelo himself has never struck me a someone who would knowingly dodge a fight. I think he'd rather lose than be seen running off with his tail between his legs.

You bet Oscar is holding up the fight- in just the same way as Arum kept Pacquiao from some of his fights or agreements. I believe Oscar doesn't want the risk of Canelo losing luster- maybe he thinks this route is the lessor of two evils.

I hope I am right. I am a fan of both Canelo and GGG.

as someone who has watched boxing a long time, is a big fan of the mw division, and who genuinely likes both guys i can honestly say i've never seen the lineal mw champ fight a china chinned jww in his one and only defense and then cede the title to his mandatory.

whatever the reasons are or who is to blame for whatever hold up...those are the facts and it's quite remarkable actually. i'm not saying anyone is ducking or that the bases for canelo doing what he's doing aren't legit. I'm just saying that it's not something you see often.

Per Loeffer, talks will resume on June 1st. As of now all this "duck" talk is just fans pulling their frustration out their ass.

It looks like he has ducked him.

But that's fine, he's moving back to LMW admitting he isn't big enough to compete with G. What's not fine is holding the belt hostage and making diva demands.

Lets see him going to 154 an see how he does there , he isnt even gonig to fight the top dogs there , chasing Liam ? come one... the guy can pick whoever he wants to fight next and thats the best you can do ? after such an easy touch with Khan .... dissapointing , it seems it goes from bad to worse with Canelo.....

He didn’t hold the belt hostage. Holding a belt or a weight division hostage is a phrase I coined by describing what Floyd Mayweather did with the 154-lb belts to avoid a rematch with Canelo. (Floyd being allowed to hold the belts for 2+ years without having to defend them or vacate the title .. fought Maidana at “147 lbs” for the 154-lb titles) Floyd held on to those titles while Canelo was seeking a rematch after a MD. Canelo didn’t get his rematch, there were no title opportunities for anyone at 154-lb during that time. So he was forced to do non title fights and that's what led to his match with Cotto. That’s what holding a belt or a weight division hostage means.

Canelo had the title for 6 months made one title defense, then he vacated the belt. That’s not holding the belt hostage. Where’s Canelo making divas demands? The ones making demands were GG and the WBC.

Another reason that Canelo vacated the belt is to give him an opportunity at Smith's WBO LMW title. That was one of the reasons why Canelo vs Smith wasn’t made earlier this year, due to a rule that prevented Canelo from holding a belt in another weight class and capturing the WBO 154-lb title. Liam fights this weekend, if he were to retain the title, it could set up a Canelo fight later this year.

GGG is ducking Lara, end of story. Lara is not a MW you say? "Anyone from 154-68" should ring a pretty loud bell, don't you think?:yep oh it was said 3 years ago? Well he shouldn't have said it in the first place:deal

Seriously, you're either trolling, or you have no understanding of anything.

    Can't you appreciate his circumstances?

He's ducking Lara? On the grounds he's not going out of his way to make the fight?

    What's wrong with you?

His goal is to obtain all of the MW belts. His focus is now on Jacobs and Saunders now Canelo has ducked.

Please explain to me why at this specific moment in time, he's going to instead chase a guy who's not even a MW?
