Ricky at the current time too early for Josh only had 5 fights way too early to be talking about something like that.

My thoughts exactly, 18-24 months down the line I think we would be saying Josh but at present he hasn't fought anyone that proves he is ready for British level never mind world level.

Josh has the potential to go further in the sport than Ricky, he can hit harder and is quicker. But Ricky would absolutely school him if they fought- not even up for debate.

    School him? Not a chance.

I would be willing to put money on it that burns wouldn't take that fight even at this stage. Almost certain they sparred a few times in the sat and there wasn't any "schooling" being dished out by burns at all. No doubt bully will deny this lol.

in fairness josh gave ricky good rounds, my only concerns with josh was he doesnt punch very hard but very skillful, then youve got to see if he can take a punch over a 12 round fight
very talented lad and top lad too

These are among the questions taylor has yet to answer. Iv no doubt he will be going far within the sport. But it would nt be the wisest choice to put him in with ricky at this time imo

How long ago was this Billy?

I know he's not been in with any top level opposition yet, but he looks to have a fair dig on him now...

How can you mention these two guys in the same sentence right now? One is a novice and the other a three weight world champion. Just because someone was a successful amateur it doesn't mean it will translate into the pro game so any talk of this is beyond stupid, also unfair on Taylor, give him the chance to build, the reason fighters get stick is because people hype them up and talking about world titles after 5 or so fights is certainly doing that.

Not the right time to discuss it but one thing i will say in 2 years time if Ricky is still a world champion this fight will be huge in Scotland. Taylor already has quiet a fanbase

Josh ha been fighting proper bums to build his profile guys you are weight divisions below him. Cyclone are being very clever and he has been kept very safe. As Billy has said he doesn't really have the punching power to trouble the guys at the top just now.. Saying that he is developing and I think 18 months time will be ready to move for big titles.. Ricky wins this wide points just now...

Ricky burns can't punch either and it appears to not have done him any harm. I think people would be very surprised if this theoretical matchup was to take place even just now. The only thing burns has better than Taylor is his chin potentially, everything else Taylor is better at imo.

Yes the matchmaking has been over protective but these go boys have been fighting at seriously high levels in the amateurs against guys who are miles better than most "professionals" some on here think are the business.

Josh could beat all the domestic guys even at this early stage. He's a class above them all. Burns would be a hard ask but he has the superior skill set. Physically would be the question mark.

Taylor has been matched with great care so his KO % flatters him. Way too early for him... Limond would be a more interesting fight - if he were to continue
