I'm tempted to say Forman - he's clearly the greater fighter, career-wise. But Prime Bowe - however short that prime may have been - was one of the most talented HWs ever, and he just might have "Ali'd" Foreman.

    A true toss up

Foreman imo wins rather easy as Bowe has the habit of fighting shorter than he is which would be his undoing against Foreman

Bowe. I think in the very short prime he had he would be the favorite over any other HW

In the three fights with Holyfield, Holyfield landed between 49-60% of his punches, that lack of defensive skill would be Bowe's undoing against a puncher as aggressive and as formidable as prime Foreman.

Bowe wouldn't fold easily though and would make a fight of it, would likely get dropped repeatedly and get up showing the kind of heart he did against Holyfield and Golota. He might even drop Foreman like Lyle did but that open defence would give Foreman opportunities to turn it around again with his power.

I'd expect Foreman to overcome a brave Bowe inside 6 rounds.

Except Holyfield is quicker and more technically sound than Foreman. Those stats aren't very relevant in this mythical matchup. You could easily say that Bowe would land much more often on Foreman since Holyfield is better defensively so Bowe would land at will. Not to mention Prime Foreman lacked 12 round stamina so if Bowe could last til 8 where he got KO'd from exhaustion against Ali then Bowe would have no trouble putting him away.

Sure Holyfield was quicker and better technically, but with Bowe's style he would always be there to be hit. Donald landed 46% of his punches after 11 rounds despite a passive performance, an over matched Coetzer landed 40% after 5 rounds, Golota landed 55% in the first fight and 60% in the 2nd fight.

Sure Foreman may punch himself out, especially against such an easy target as Bowe but Bowe would still have to make it to the 8th which is unlikely with Foreman's power and Bowe's lack of defence.

Also people focus too much on the Zaire performance, Foreman was over confident, fighting in hot conditions and had what he thought was another quick KO standing in front of him. Foreman went 10 rounds in his prime a few times before he won the title, no guarantee we see a reckless Foreman not pacing himself like in Zaire.

I have to take Bowe in this one. Better technical ability AND hes bigger. This would be a clear win actually as Foreman gets outclassed.

I'm not sure who would win. I can see both sides...it'd sure as hell be fun while it lasted.

Foreman blows him out but Bowe would avoid him just like he avoided all the dangerous punchers.

Bowe was a punching bag, that's why he was out of the game at 28. If a journeyman like Bigfoot Martin could land at will on him, what do people honestly think Foreman would do?
