I've mentioned this on the forum before with no real evidence but its interesting to see someone point this out

I mean its funny Canelo is supposed to be the icon but he kind of just took his loss to Floyd and went home while a guy like Chavez jr who is seen as a side show joke was down on the cards and laid it out on the line vs Martinez just as his father did vs Taylor

Depends on the match up. Put him in with a guy like Walters and he would be destroyed. Put him in with a somewhat limited opponent like the guy last night and Salido will be competitive.

I can't believe you just said that. What part of Lomachenko was limited? This is the Lomachenko that Walters was afraid to fight from fear of losing his 0. :nut

Because he's a thinking fighter. A lot of people think he's just a warrior who likes to fight. He's more of a thinker than anything else.

He's a great example of someone who actually learns with experience. He's become so good at cheating his way to the top as well. He gets away with so much and that's because he knows when to do things.

In this decade, he's the best he's ever been. He's so difficult to read over the course of a fight. He's been in so many wars and turned pro at 15 and had a gruelling early career - yet he doesn't look warn torn at all.

He's a top level banger, with a decent beard, stamina, and heart. Salido just doesn't fold, or rollover when he gets punished. He's a bit like Margarito in the sense, he doesn't go away, and throws with leverage till the final bell.

Salido has a ton of experience and ability to hang in there till the end. He's clearly sitll hungry even up to this stage in his career, that's why he is still hanging in there with the best of them. He's coming to win.

Salido comes to win and why's he still here.

Best explanation, Orlando is like a smaller Glen Johnson, him being thrown to the wolves so much made him that much more solid and that much of a more professional.
