He would get absolutely schooled. Not enough volume or ring craft for the amateur game.

Be interesting if he is serious. On the other side, it would not surprise me if it's just to get people talking about him.

Fowler already has the spot for GB at Middleweight so it is impossible for embank jr to go. first come, first served:good:good

Imagine if they ousted Fowler for Eubank Jr. The Mersey would overflow with Anthony's tears!

Completely shameless if Jr has applied.

Is Jr the Benjamin Button of boxing?

He is doing it all backwards, gets to WBA mandatory position, turns it down and fights for the British title. Wins that and now apparently has applied to go and fight amateurs at the Olympics.

Forget if he goes or not, If he has applied then he should be ridiculed, completely and utterly ridiculed.

Absolutely spot on. This guy, or more likely his father, is absolutely obsessed with publicity of any kind whatsoever. Whether it's a media tour with Nick Blackwell in a coma, the pretence of wanting a Golovkin date, then Degale, now applying to box in an amateur tournament. Wish they'd just go away in all honesty.

When Blackwell was in a coma people were slating the fight saying was a mismatch, Eubank was mandatory for a world title shot so to come back down a level put Blackwell at risk. Now with the likes of this going on there is a serious threat to some of the amateurs. I know it's only 3 rounds and I know that many amateurs would box rings around many pros but there are some that won't.

I heard an interview with Steve Lillis on the matter and he was concerned about the Olympians who qualify from remote places with sp**** populations who are no better than club fighters but qualify due to a lack of competition. To give an idea of the level some of them are at one had to pull out of the 2012 tournament because he didn't have a head guard to fit. I think the whole thing is terrible.

As for Eubank Jr. I reckon this is just to get people speaking about him.

    Another publicity stunt.
Hes no intention of going to olympics he knows as well as anyone that amateur boxing is a different sport and hef get schooled by th mid to top guys. Ye of course hed have a field day with lesser guys its similar to pool and snooker or 20/20 or test match cricket horses for courses and because he has no teal expierence there hes got no chance.

Embarrassing again...you have to wonder if Jnr actually knows about some of these blatant publicity stunts. GB Boxing said they "have had enquiries from people claiming to represent" CEJ. Surely if he even remotely wanted an Olympic place he'd pick up the phone.
