Looked very impressive tonight. That KO was brutal. Loma also hurt Martinez in rd 4 pretty bad.

Is it enough to say his power increased when he moved up in weight?

i'd say it's more a case of great timing and skill can let you land cleaner more effective/damaging punches.

Lomachenko has always had power, but because he's defensively brilliant, he only throws them once he has set them up with everything else and/or when it's the right time.

That was a shocking KO. Martinez was on the floor the same way Amir Khan was against Canelo.

He always looked strong at 132lbs in the amateurs.

his always had pretty good power but its his brutal combinations set up by his footwork. he constantly tags guys with shots they do not see. his footwork is the best iv seen in the game

Lomachenko has always hit hard, his KO% would be far higher if he'd done things the normal way but he's been fighting world class opposition from the moment he turned professional. I think the added weight has added even more to his power and he seemed to be planting his feet a little more than usual last night perhaps to counteract Martinez's game plan of wearing him down, perfect game plan and execution

Loma actually weighed 1.5lbs less last night than he did against Gary Russell.

    Loma 137 - Martinez 144

    Loma 138½ - Russell 138

1lb more than he did against Salido

    Loma 136 - Salido 147

Although he was considerably lighter for his pro debut

    Loma 129 - Ramirez 135

He did come in lighter for Piriyapinyo, too.

    Loma 132 - Piriyapinyo 137

He definite has more power now. Also he now is starting to commit more after putting his opponent to a disadvantage.

Hmmm, very short thread. All the Loma detractors and white
haters are licking their wounds. I told everyone that LOma
would either stop Martinez or beat him like a red headed
step child for 12, but he ended up over-delivering. At least I
didn't say he would be in a 50-50 or 55-45 type of fight like
all the GGG and KOvalev haters. Face it boys, the russians
have taken over the sport from the light to heavy divisions.

Serge great post. Comparing fight night weights is the best way to go.

Lomachenko won't be at any size disadvantage with any 130lber. Has plenty of power.

Between Salido, Vargas, Walters (if he finds his nuts), Gamboa, and even Santa Cruz/Mares now that Haymon and Arum are talking....the possibilities are endless.
