Let me tell you that this is a monster fight .. Mosley very under rated at 135 .. with his terrific speed, power and chin he may edge the Hawk or he may not .. Two exceptional , natural 135 pound fighters ..
Its a true pick em fight. The more I think about it the more I lean slightly towards Mosely. I slightly lean towards Mosely just based on his size (almost 3 inches taller) and proven chin holding up at 147 and 154. Both guys will certainly test each other. Pryor's non-stop offense might actually find its match in this fight. Mosely can bang to the body and won't shy from exchanges and might have faster hands than the Hawk. I think Pryor is one of the top 5 greatest pressure fighters of all time but I don't like this match up for him.
This is a true pick'em fight, I think. Shane has generally superior physical tools (except maybe chin), but Pryor has better intangibles (and I don't mean just Panama Lewis!).
Toss-up at 140. Going with Pryor by SD because he had beaten some "legends" Cervantes and Arquello when the chips were down (plus a win over Hearns in the amateurs).
Too much is made of the result of that particular amateur fight. First, obviously, amateur rules tend to favor the volume puncher over the knockout artist. Second, Pryor was, I believe, 20 or so when that fight took place, and Hearns 17. So it was a man fighting yet an un-developed teen. Third, contrary to the claims of some (though less so now that actual footage is available via Youtube), the fight was very close.
Can go either way. Trust me I REALLY dont like Shane Mosley but he has nice combinations and a cast iron chin. Pryor was relentless but could box when he wanted.
That fight, on Youtube was extremely close .. in addition, Pryor was the vastly more experienced fighter. Hearns was a stick thin 17 year old at the time ..
This pretty much mirrors my view of the fight as well. Fight could go either way, but if I were betting money I'd pick Shane, either way it would be a real dog fight.
